A first-generation Watch with Watch OS 1.0.0 will be a rare collector's item. (If it's anything like an iOS device, you won't be able to downgrade the software.)

Trust me, I'm from the future.

should have released, you know, maybe, a KILLER APP for it ?!

hope you're enjoying your Stamp Sized UI, Tethering, and Awful Battery

the rest of us are happy with our Cadillac sized Smart Phones

Quite a lot of fixes and changed for a .0.1 update, looking forwards to seeing how the third party apps changes affect speed of loading.

Trip Chowdry (yes the one that said Apple was finished if they didn't release a watch in 60 days). Claims 3rd party apps are already loading faster.

Over the last two weeks, Apple iOS developer relations staff members have been working closely with software developers to help correct the loading time issue with their apps, Global Equities Research analyst Trip Chowdhry said,” Patrick Seitz reports for Investor’s Business Daily. “Some Apple Watch developers neglected to use ‘shared containers’ for their apps and have since switched to the technology. That has ‘significantly improved’ app loading times, he said.”

Patience is finding something to do while you are waiting (for whatever).

In this case, perhaps you can find something productive to do at work without the watch on your wrist for a few minutes? How did you survive at work without the watch?

I don't know

Her dissatisfaction comes from the calories. The Polar will say 500 calories burned for example, and the Watch 250. She's competing against people in some fitness app, so less is bad! Haha! I don't think the Polar is inaccurate. Judging by her workout, I think the numbers seems reasonable.

I don't know how the Apple Watch could be defective when paired with a bluetooth chest strap. The same strap on Polar gives her double the amount of calories. I just think Apple is using different algorithms. And even if we do exchange it, God knows when they'll send her another one.

I was going by heart rate since you mentioned the Polar heart rate chest strap.

Polar app might say 500 calories (the strap itself doesn't tell you calories burned).

Treadmill might say 200 calories. Endomondo might say something else. MapMyRun might say something else. The bike at the gym might say something else. The Watch might say something else.

You're gonna return the watch because the calorie count on apps differ?

If you (or your wife) knows that she was in the heart rate training zone for X minutes during a workout -- then that should be what matters most. Who cares what the calorie count on an app says? They're ALL estimates and they're all going to be different.

Installing now...

Today was supposed to be a rest day after 4 days in a row of running, but I think I'll have to go out for a short 5-mile run later today and see if the measuring of the run distance has improved. (This update claim improvements have been made.) I sure hope so. My watch has consistently been measuring my runs short by 9-11%. Hopefully this update fixes it!

My wife asked me to return her Apple Watch today. She can't get accurate fitness results. It's way off from her Polar. She even bought a bluetooth polar chest strap. Maybe this update will help?

That seems pretty short-sighted for something that could definitely be improved by software updates in the future.

Just updated and the first thing I checked was to see if they fixed the calendar so we can actually see a month other than our current one.

Nope.

Let's hope the Siri improvements address "Hey Siri" only working approximately 8% of the time...

The point being, didn't bring the charger to work.

Got mine updated. Third party apps seem to load slightly faster I suppose.
