Approximately when is the public beta 2 likely to be released based on past releases?

It’s typically 2-3 week period between betas from what I’ve learned. Anyone with a Wiki link that’s shows the exact dates with previous major iOS releases.

Thanks I'm going to wait for the PB2 before installing.

Omg finally I can do split screen with 2 apps not in the dock!

It’s very hard until you get the hang of it.

Press and hold on one app until you can move it ( but not too long or it will start to wiggle and once it wiggles it won’t work ) now drag onto another app. Now drag your finger to one side and it will enter split view.

Good Morning. I'm finding the beta to be mostly stable on my iPhone 7 Plus, however I do have one question...my phone seems to be turning on the WiFi automatically, regardless of whether or not it is turned on by me or not. I keep it off and it still manages to connect multiple times a day. Does anyone know if this happens to be a new feature or should I report this as a bug? Thank you!

Are you turning the Wi-Fi off from settings or the control panel? I'm finding you have to turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc from the settings app. It won't turn them off from just clicking the icon in the control panel. It just disconnects but will reconnect as it's not turning it off.

A few notes:
- Evernote is crashing on launch on my 12.9
- if I use the Files document extension I have to select it twice. The first time I go to save a document, when I tap on iCloud Drive, nothing happens. When I tap Save to Files again, this time my folder list appears.

For everyone having issues connecting to your Apple Watch while using iOS 11, All you have to do is back up your Apple Watch and erase all content and settings then restore your Apple watch from that backup and it should work. I have tested this and my Apple Watch works normal again without issues.

Anyone else not able to get apps to update? Updates are shown in app store, I click to update, the ring spins and then I get a notification saying the app wasn't able to be updateded and to retry. The thing is, I see a dot next to the app I was trying to update so perhaps the updates are going through.

I also lost connection to my apple watch but after re-pairing, the issue seems to be resolved for now.

...

Yes, but intermittently. Device restart seems to solve it.

I did this today, the only thing I noticed still not working for me is the Current City weather is not showing on my watch. Selecting a specific city works.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but how do you back up the watch if it’s not communicating with your phone? I did a backup of my phone (and health data) before I downloaded iOS 11, but none of my workout info has been transferred to my phone or health/activity app since then.

I'm turning off the Wi-Fi from both the control panel as well as settings and finding the error. Oddly enough it seems to have improved, if that is even possible. Now it only occurs several times a day vs. essentially every time i unlocked my phone.

Never mind. I did it. Lost my activity data for the week, which I was hoping I wouldn’t, but kinda figured would happen. But, my watch is now paired. Moving forward …

Google photos doesn’t backup photos taken in new iOS format ! Unknown file type !

Can't get split screen up at all on mini4, does it not support split screen in beta?

I'm having issues with Maps acting as if it's not connected to Verizon. Also, I am unable to use "erase all contents and settings", I wanted to do a clean wipe but um, it won't let me. Anyone else seeing this?

Just wanted to chime in that so far it seems quite stable on my 6S. The only hiccups being task switcher, shutting down apps, and occasional touch/swipe latency. The calendar date does show up, but as another commenter stressed above, I sometimes cannot swipe to open notifications from the lock screen.

For the rest it's alright, and I LOVE the new control centre!

The task switcher was a nightmare for me, still is when it comes to closing apps. But funny, something I thought was a gimmick before I got 3D Touch I hate to do without.

Anyway, there is an admittedly inelegant solution if you really miss it.
Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > AssistiveTouch and switch it on.

Then go into the Customise Top-Level Menu and set the 3D Touch action to Multitasking.
Move the on screen button to where you want it, I have it on the left side about halfway up the screen because that’s where my thumb naturally goes to for it anyway, and once you’ve set your position change the idle opacity to 15% and you’re done.

The button is so transparent that when I’m concentrating on the screen, such as now, I don’t even notice it.......

..... Or, y’know, double tap the home button :D
Yeah that’s easier but the amount of times I’ve gone to do the bloody 3D Touch task switcher I just had to do the assistive Touch workaround for now.

I love that you can adjust the opacity of the assistive touch. Its practically invisible on my screen.

Anyone seeing an issue where the Calendar app doesn’t show birthdays?

Anyones watch disconnecting randomly on its own? Bluetooth is on and my phone is literally in my hand, but my watch shoes the red disconnected symbol.

I do not have this problem. If you haven’t yet, try erasing everything then doing an iCloud restore on your watch.

My birthday are shown fine. Tap on calendars and make sure birthdays are ticked.

Yep all ticked
