It used to take them months to even acknowledge issues, that alone fix them. Now they are release patches within a week of a software release? It means they knew these bugs existed when they released the software. Welcome to the new Apple where meeting your release date is more important than releasing quality products.

If your insinuation is that Apple previously didn't ship software until all known issues were fixed, that's an unrealistic view of software development.

Weird. In 13.1 I get iTunes launching by itself every so often. Didn’t happen in 13.0.

Reverting to 13.0.
Not an issue with 13.1 specifically. Somehow after the update the IR sensor is launching iTunes every time I press the Guide button on the remote control for the TV. If I press Info on the remote, it mutes the MacBook.

Well, that's a weird one. I'll have to figure out how to deactivate this.

EDIT:

It's in the Security Preferences.

Lets also hope it fixes Yahoo Mail, e.g.:

1. Can't always delete mails
2. Drafts get left in that folder, multiple copies per mail, even when the mail has been sent

What MS Office issues?

Would you rather they stop working on patches? All software development is an ongoing process.

Anyway, this is nothing new. Almost every OS X release has had a .1 update within a month of release. I expect the final version of this will release in 2-3 weeks, which is in line with every other .1 update.

Perhaps, but looking at the forums it would appear that some people are having major issues, not just the minor irritating glitches that one would tolerate in any early release. My lack of trust these days in Apple quality led me to wait a few days for the feedback to appear on the forums before upgrading and I am glad I did - previously I would have waited just 24 hours.

Word 2011 works fine for me (i.e. as well as it ever did). But Twitter crashes every time I scroll back through individual PMs, and I can use Affinity, Tonality, etc. but not Photoshop CC to edit Photos – user error ?
Photoshop CC? Really? It has always worked flawlessly for me all throughout the beta phases of High Sierra, then with the public release, and now with the first beta of 10.13.1. Your troubles must be coming from a Photoshop plug-in. Try disabling your plug-ins for now and see what happens.

It'd be good if it did fix the Fusion Drive issue.
I currently have a Mini with Fusion drive stuck on the last pre GM beta because I don't want to format it. I use it for SKY Go, and it only allows you to change devices once a month.
Its not showing as an update on the app store for me, but perhaps thats because my machine isn't on the GM release.
I wonder if I install GM on it as a HFS Fusion drive a later point release will offer to update it to APFS?
For now I think the High Sierra installer will refuse to convert your fusion drive as APSF even if you choose to, but I don’t see any obstacle to your updating at this point, although I’m not familiar with the SKY Go issue. Do you think it will see your updated High Sierra drive as a new device?

I also did not get an automatic update from the GM candidate version. You need to go to the App Store. In the Featured page, select macOS High Sierra to download and install the public release. The beta of 10.13.1 is out now too and you may have to go through the motions again to get access to it.

I was having a weird problem with excel where, in existing spreedsheets, the text was a mirror image and upside down. This also affected brand new spreadsheets, updated office as far as I could to the early release updates and none of these fixed my problems. At the moment I'm resorting to using numbers....
When reporting issues with third-party apps, especially Office, please indicate which version you are running. But Tzey, you are correct. When I opened an “.xls” file in Excel Office 365, the spreadsheet was rotated 180°.

When I checked for updates, there indeed was an update available for Excel so I installed it. (I’m on the Office Insider Fast update list, which provides early builds, i.e., beta, by the way.) Now the same spreadsheet is displaying properly.

Amen to that! The initial widespread release, especially of a major upgrade like 10.13.0 is bound to unearth even more bugs and quirks that developers and public beta testers did not catch, so this new beta release is much welcomed.

Apple probably decided that the new voice for Siri would be problematic for a lot of users so they did not incorporate it in High Sierra until this latest beta build. Give her (or him, if you select a male voice) a listen. Works with “Type to Siri” as well.

Does this fix the issue where contacts without country code added to the number, show up as numbers in imessage on the mac ?
That is a lame bug considering the beta period ...

Nope - just had a look. Thanks for a way of fixing it before they get round to it!

You can resize the table, but Numbers, by design, does not do full-size table. Instead, you can lay out multiple tables (and other stuff like charts) on your sheet.

See, this is where Apple falls down sometimes. They think they know better what people want and they’re not always right.
