Do you have to have a developer membership or can you still access the developer betas without paying?

I could not see the iOS 18 developer beta track with my free dev account. Had to check OS updates with my paid developer account to see the 18 track, which seems odd.

I am using a free Developer account and I have access to the beta downloads... I also just toggled Software update from iOS 16 Developer Beta to iOS 18 Developer Beta...

It is a bad idea to install early betas on a main device, and we recommend having a secondary device if you want to try out the software. There are often significant bugs in early versions of iOS and macOS, so if you do install on a main device, make sure to create a backup beforehand.

This is such wonderful advice!

...sadly I didn't follow it: the beta download has already started on my main device and I haven't backed up a thing. I'm just rawdogging the future with no safety net.

Doubt it based upon the announcement. He said it is coming this summer and will be available in beta in iOS 18 this fall. (or something to that effect). Made me think it will come to developers in a few beta cycles.
