Pretty boring beta without the AI stuff - I do hope I can have light icons with the dark calendar widget back… the white hurts lol

Windows resize on Sequoia is exactly like Windows 11. Two up windows has a center link to allow resizing both windows together.

I’m interested in the photos app. I saw that grid and I’m like yuck. I don’t have any pics in my recents. They’re all synced to my Mac, then I sync it back to my phone and it’s under a section called from my Mac. That’s what I’m curious to see. And even then, sometimes I take other kinds of videos/pics that I don’t want them in a grid and don’t care to put them under hidden. I take video/pics, I follow the set up with a screenshot so when I open photos, it shows the latest pic as a screenshot.

I won’t be using the 18 betas, so I guess I’ll be relying on YouTube videos to see how it actually works.

I believe it was Gurman who reported that there would be a redesigned Settings app for macOS Sequoia. So, does anyone have a screenshot of what that looks like?

At least in this beta, it looks pretty identical to Sonoma with only the slightest of changes. Nothing drastic.

I’m struggling to see anything compelling that would keep me from switching from my iPhone 13 Pro Max to something like a Pixel 9 or 10 (depending on how long I hold out). I’ll probably get a battery replacement but I was holding out hope that WWDC would push me to get an iPhone 16 when my renewal comes up. Now I’m not so sure. All the apps I enjoy are cross platform. Yubikey works with whatever. Bitwarden, Hello Weather… i want to be pulled into staying but nothing has swayed me after watching the keynote :(

Have to say that installing these betas are a PITA if you have a different AppleID as your main ID versus your developer account. My developer account is my Media & Purchases account because it predated MobileMe/iCloud. The only way to get the developer beta option to show is to log out of my primary AppleID. Once it’s updated, I had to then log out of my Store account and relog into my primary and then Store AppleID’s.

I’m not sure why Apple got rid of the ability to sign into a separate account.

Anyone installing VisionOS 2?
I did. The hand gestures to get the circle to appear or the mini control center by flipping the palm is buggy as heck and doesn’t show up very well. Staring upwards to see the arrow for control center seems to not work. I saw it once when staring above a third party app, but I couldn’t get it to show any other time.

The connect above the Mac doesn’t seem to appear anymore, but it somewhat works from the control center. My first attempt did nothing but Vision Pro still thought it was connected. I disconnected and reconnected and this time it worked. One thing I can’t find is a way to stretch the screen horizontally into a curved ultrawide.

Passwords is an utter mess. There are multiple entries for a lot of websites with horrible names. Unlike most password managers where you manually add each entry, keychain is pretty automatic, so I see a lot of editing and deleting in my future. One thing missing is the ability to import from third party password managers like 1Password.

I see no changes whatsoever in Safari. I’m wondering if the new features are just hard to find.

These are pretty good updates.. I was getting jaded but there's some useful stuff here. I especially like the ipad calculator.. I guess what they said is true - not doing it until they can do it "right". I updated everything from airpods/watch/phone/tv/MBP/imac etc lol... Noticed some gaps right away in the first couple minutes(seems to be a talent)
- My iphone doesn't show up in my macs docks for iphone mirroring. Hmm
- The new siri effect and logo is pretty cool - that didn't get updated in MacOS.. kind of a curious omission. Still same siri visuals as before there.
- You would think it would auto trigger updating xcode, but nope, just has the ban sign unless you go manually update.
