wanna install the iOS 4.2 beta in my ipad

anyone can add my ipad IDUD to his developer account so I can install the beta ver. ??
my email is : sahmedkh @ gmail . com

thanks in advance

I think I read that printing works on iPad + iPhone 3GS, 4 and iPod touch 2nd gen and higher

My iPad used to have the apple logo show up quite often especially if I opened a few apps in a short period of time

Good news is in 4.2 it hasn't did this once :D its been 100% perfect :D

So far only irritating BUG that I've found with 4.2 Beta for iPad... the iPad mail program keeps crashing after starting to retrieve messages.

The iPad Mail program worked perfectly before in ver. 3.2 iPad Mail (of course).

My 3 email accts are: 1 earthlink, and 2 hotmail accts.

However, I can, look up my email accts online in Safari ok from their respective web sites.

I noticed that when I am online, and go to Earthlink WebMail to check my emails, all is fine except I cannot compose and write a NEW EMAIL using HTML with the iPad keyboard. If I use PLAIN TEXT, the iPad keyboard pops up to type a message.

work with Canada Rogers/Telus/Bell self serve??

Hi there.

I believe the self serve option has been available in the states from the get go so you can add data without calling AT&T.

However at launch here in Canada that wasn't active and I had to call Bell to get data for my sim.

They now have this feature through the 3.2.2 update HOWEVER since 4.2 beta is out, any idea if this will have the feature for Canadian carriers?

I am doubtful considering it's a US beta but still.

Any insights??

Thanks in advance...

This has been available with Rogers since day one of the Canadian release.

Is It true that Mobile Data Network (APN) settings have been hidden in the beta? I like to change mine on O2 to remove image compression.

Following furtive's direction on how to update the ipcc file to 8.1+ for Rogers, when I tab on "Cellular Data", I still don't see "View Account" where I could type in the credit card information to sign up for a data plan. This has been confirmed by him as a problem.

So basically, updating the ipcc file to 8.1+ would only make iPad 4.2 Beta work on Rogers for existing accounts, not for SIM cards who are not signed up yet.

I tried calling Rogers customer service to manually activate and add data plan to my SIM but they kept saying that I have to sign up on the iPad device itself.

Any suggestions, anyone? I can't think of any other way to solve this issue right now. Rogers is not helping and iPad 4.2 is not displaying the "View Account" for me to sign up.

Works now. My own fault: the downloaded ipcc was too old and so grayed out, and the newly build was just a .zip file still ;-) Removed the original, renamed the modded correctly as ipcc and it got accepted. But still, iPad says "Carrier 8.0" after adding the modded "T-Mobile 8.2" (8.1 original)... :-(
I've also tried to change "BuildVersion" and "SourceVersion" a bit higher, but no luck...

Same situation here. Modded the Rogers .ipcc file but still iPad says Carrier 7.2 and also "cellular network not found".

Has anyone received bad signals with 4.2? My iPad has been terrible and so has my iPhone... losing all the time since 4.2, even when I dont touch my iPad I can watch the bars go to 0 lol I hope it gets fixed in 4.2 b2

ah, I don't get viruses on my Windows 7 (or XP, or Vista) machines (6 ea.) either. geez, you act like everyone without an Apple device MUST have viruses. I've been computing since 1985 and while I had a couple decades ago, I haven't had a virus in so long I can't count the years. you might want to stop with the "apple is so superior" attitude.

Sorry if people attitude comes across as superior but just consider these points

1) Just because you have used computers since the early days (and so have I, and I mean before windows came on the seen, I still remember those dreaded start up menus! Thank goodness there was the Amiga and Atari back then, and that was a war that made the mac vs pc look like a childish spat) does not mean your opinion is any more valid than anyone elses.

2) You are on a MAC FORUM ! Most people here love Mac

3) Most of us have also had to endure PCs sometime in our lives, so we are not completely clueless about them, WE JUST DON'T LIKE THEM! (that is until Macs take over the world !!!!! :):):):):):):):):apple::apple::apple::apple:)

4) Just because you cannot see any affects of a virus does not mean to say it is not there! I still use a virus program even though I am on a Mac as I don't want to be the first to find that someone has broken through :)

5) Using PCs at work, the one thing that really annoys me with them is just using the horid things slows them down over time to a slow crawl, and as most companies go for the lowest spec possible to keep costs down, that is usually sooner rather than later. I would say Mac or PC..MAX THE RAM!!!!

There now I feel better and I tamed the flame thrower to medium roast for you ;) I hope the gentle toasting has had you feel a little more warm to us.

Have a good one

Spence

A lot of people here have switched because they just couldn't stand the negative side of Windows anymore. They have used Windows a long time and some have used Macs a long time. They have used BOTH sides! They know ups and downs of both.

A lot of Windows users have used a Mac briefly like for 5 minutes with a closed mind attitude thinking this sucks look at it boo its gay or whatever and when they get asked if they have used a Mac they say yes and they hated it sucks. This generally is someone who is anti-Apple for no reason other than rumours and myths they heard while growing up

I have noticed this attitude in too many people and it really does make me lose faith in humanity sometimes :(

I use Mac OS X for everything except gaming which I have Windows for that :D
