The new iPhone looks really cool in this ad. Watching the flowing golden metal shape itself into the new iPhone 5S is absolutely electric, and it gives absolutely no indication of all the ways the iPhone can make your life better.

Unlike Apple's old ads.

Which featured Apple products being used in scientific research, medical applications, classrooms, and even by grandma and grandpa to video chat.

Apple used to place the possibilities forefront in it's ads. Much of it's advertising focused on the user and what that person could do with Apple's products. If you look at their competitor's ads throughout the years, you will see lasers, robots, really super cool CGI effects that compete to grab people's attention. Vice trying to appeal to their brains.

Is Apple starting to stray from it's roots? I think so. I think it is why they held onto Jonny Ive - they saw Apple's identity as being associated with a "look." I used to think Tim Cook was going to be a good thing for the company. Seems I was wrong. He is thinking not like an innovator, but a like businessman. Just like George Steinbrenner.

In todays digital world the potential buyers for Apple products are already well aware of all the features and innovations of the iPhone. In years past
computers were new and most everyday people didn't understand too much about it. There was a need back then for informative spots. Today not so much, unless it's a ground breaking new development. By the way, the touch I.D. innovation is shown in the ad. ;)

Did anyone notice the icon on Home screen had Drop shadow effect?

I'm sure it has been posted already but LG was the first to use this song/technique with the LG Chocolate.

yea, i knew i'd seen that ad done before. looks like apple straight up copied it (but i'm sure many here will just look the other way). the chocolate was probably my 3rd phone. really liked it.

My favourite band in the ad for my favourite phone - yay!

P.S. And I read this on the way to their concert!
P.S.S. Ooh La La is far from their best though - try Strict Machine, Black Cherry, or Monster Love ;-)

You too can have one in only 3-4 weeks!

Ordered mine last Saturday, won't ship until mid-November.

They were probably surprised at the number of people wanting a gold phone, gold has been considered a tacky accessory choice for at least the last decade but I suppose that trend is reversing itself.

You are the first one I was going to make the same comment. The old LG Chocolate commercial is nearly identical to the on for the iPhone 5s

Granted, Both spots are for "Verizon" so I have to wonder who is more responsible for this choice? The fact is both commercials are using the same sniffies song and have similar "melting" themes.

I would say this commercial was probably paid for and made at Verizon's direction and not Apple.

Liquidmetal

Did anybody thing of Liquidmetal and Apple's license thereto?
