I tried the Beta 10.11.1 update from the GM last night but it complained about the iCloud Password after the update and had issues signing into Messages for some reason. I tried a few things(reboot, log out and in iCloud) but went ahead and reinstalled the GM release from the "purchased tab" and Messages worked again. Anyone seen this issue with 10.11.1?

Good for you if you're happy with it! But I have been an Apple user for 8 years so I know what to expect from OS X. And Yosemite has been a buggy OS and nothing else. I stopped installing betas of El Capitan after the fourth public beta (and it was not great at all!), so I don't know what is the state of affairs now but I won't take your words.

Been using OSX now also since 2008 and can tell you that 10.11.1 is even better than Snow Leopard. 10.11.1 is a big improvement over 10.11 GM.
But okay, there is no need to use beta if you don't want, just wait a few weeks till the final appears and be happy.

No, works fine for me and way better than 10.11 GM.

Lmao. Another day, another forum user with issues. I hope my signature is visible to you. You're on ignore now. I don't go on Internet to have idiotic fights.

Please, don't try to be a wise ass and try to make everything personal. If you don't like us don't post here. You seem to be exactly what your signature states.

eh, why am I wasting my time on this anyways?

It crashes on boot for me; had to reinstall El Capitan public beta...

Looks like Virtualbox is the reason.

I didn't mean to install a beta os; it showed up in the app store and I just clicked :( My main machine I use for work.

My fault but showing beta stuff by default in the app store is DUMB.

Do you have to be paid developer to get this release? I have not seen any update since August 31

No you don't. But it seems you haven't downloaded and installed the GM candidate.
The GM candidate wasn't deployed as an update, only a full installer.

You need to download that from your purchased tab in the app store, and install it before you can install the 10.11.1 update public beta.

Got it. I had different Id registered for beta program. Thanks. Just downloaded gm candidate full release, and it is getting installed.

Has anyone else run into this problem when trying to install 10.11.1. I'm on the GM currently, and when I try to install the 10.11.1 public beta, I get the pop up with the usual ToS agreement. After agreeing to that it starts the usual countdown to restart and install, but when I click restart or let the countdown finish, instead of resetting, a dialog box pops up claiming "Available updates have changed. Click 'Show Details' to see the available updates. Once I click that, it just takes me back to the usual updates page with no changes…I try to update to 10.11.1 again and the exact same thing happens. It's an endless loop.

I'm relatively new to beta testing on the OS level and have a question. I received & installed my first SSD today on my daily driver, and I went ahead and installed the GM Candidate. I am confused about continuing beta updates from here, though. Are the 10.11.1 Beta reports used by Apple to fix up the 10.11.1 Public release? Or is the 10.11.1 Beta just an early release of 10.11.1 Public build for head start on 10.11.2? If I install the 10.11.1 Beta, what, if anything, happens when 10.11.1 Public is released?

Just installed Public Beta 2 of 10.11.1 and all is well with iMessages.
