What are the various build numbers?

iOS 13 Dev beta 2
iPadOS 13 Dev beta 2
iOS 13 Public beta 1
iPad OS Public beta 1

If the PBs are still close to the DB2 versions, I'll just wait another iteration. I can wait a week or two.

I keep getting a 404
They probably yanked it down to allow time for those that know what ‘beta’ means to define it to those that don’t know. For example “this is too early to be a public beta” is not a statement you make when you know what “beta” means. If it’s too early for any individual, that means it’s too early for that individual to be using a public beta :)

As always, especially with this one imo, make sure you have a backup to iCloud and (assuming you have one) to your laptop via iTunes (or Finder if you're already on Catalina).

Is iPadOS reasonably stable? Thinking about installing it on my 2018 12.9" iPad Pro for the drive support. I'm going on vacation next month and it would be great to dump my SD cards to my SSD using an adapter instead of having to lug a MBP.

When next month? If say mid July you could always just wait for the next public beta if you're worried about the stability and bugginess of this one.

Can you install public beta over DP with the profile? I need to know as i have so many bugs and it might fix my problem. Cheers.

All you have to do is delete the developer profile, and install the public beta profile. That’s what I did. I’m showing no updates though, so it must be same build as DB2

If this public beta is the same build as DP2, then god help Apple. No way DP2 is even remotely close to being a daily driver. The ‘thrillseeker’ warning with the DP builds is almost comically misleading too. If they want the ‘public’ to test this, it needs to be a significantly newer (and stable) build vs. the current DP2 - otherwise, people are going to start losing it within minutes of installation when they realize core functionality (calls/reception, scrolling lists, dark mode anomalies, etc) is half baked, stock apps such as Mail are beyond broken, and the overall experience is ways off from what you would expect from a public beta.

Not completely sure I’d agree with this. For me db2 is very smooth. The two minor issues I had were "fixed" with a hard restart. Fast, all apps I use work fine, etc., etc. I have not faced any of the issues you have mentioned.
That said, I do read where how well it works for different people seems to be all over the place.
However, developer beta or public beta, it’s still beta software and should be approached with awareness and caution. If people use it as their daily driver and experience many problems, they were forewarned.

Went to beta.apple.com/profile , chose iPad OS and clicked Download profile. After download, went to Settings->General->Software update. The system just says IOS 12.3.1 is the latest version. Where do I get the beta? Isn't it supposed to be listed?

Anyone running the developer beta care to speak about how Carplay works?
Runs well enough... some hiccups with connectivity; maps is a bit wonky at times - esp. in multi-app view. Still, apps running independently from the phone is worth the price of admission alone, imo.

You may have to reboot your device for it to appear.

This is a beta at the end of the day, no one is forcing anyone to use it.

Apple more than likely did this to kill the black market of selling access to beta's. Anyone dumb enough to expect to use this as a daily driver flawlessly gets what they deserve.

The Public Betas are staggered in such a way that Apple to the best of their ability, know there are no hard breaking bugs based on the developer beta. It is much safer for them to release Beta 2 as Public Beta 1 than a new version.

Thanks. Rebooted but still not showing up.
Same here no ota yet and i am on beta 12.4 right now

Been running Dev beta 2 since last week and there are little bugs everywhere. Little things like notification badge counts not refreshing correctly and minor UI bugs like the calculator app than doesn't resize correctly when transitioning from scientific to normal view.
Not show stoppers, but I think a public beta is a bit premature.

Agreed...This is not ready for wide deployment. I have it on my iPad pro and the number of annoying issues is rather large: rotation bugs, face id not recognizing, crashes when scrolling emails, home screen crashes, etc. - I already reported all these under the feedback app

I’ve had the iOS 13 betas on my iPad Pro, 2018 9.7, Apple Watch and iPhone Xs. No big issues on any device other than compatibility with some apps.
Your lucky as my iPad Pro is rebooting constantly and still artwork is missing in music and tv app
