My Home App has "Software Update" turned off — and yet the HomePods update automatically anyway. This happened today, as well as with some 16.x updates. Do others have this same issue?
I also experienced that in the past yes. However it doesn't happen all the time.

I can't find the setting anywhere to enable "Siri" instead of "Hey, Siri". Is it not available for German or am I just overlooking this setting somehow?

Only English for now, unfortunately.

I couldn't get saying 'Siri' to work, despite the Home app saying my HomePods were up to date.

I ungrouped them, and it turns out one of them wasn't updated.

Anyone else noticing Siri resetting its speaking volume every day, arbitrarily? First-gen HomePods here. It resets to 5% and is inaudible, forcing a command to get it up every time it’s used.

Not on my HomePod, but on my iPad, I noticed it setting and resetting and changing the volume. Also, and this is worse, half the time now it is only reading back part of a message and it stops and sounds a little staticy and doesn’t finish. It isn’t just Messages, it’s also notifications. when it is reading them back. This is an M1 iPad. I really like Siri but it’s always something with her. She is what you call high maintenance.

6 pages of comments leaves me skeptical about updating my 2 OG’s to 17…

I appreciate all the posts though, the software on them is so finicky imo
Indeed it IS finicky. Most of the time my HomePod mini recognizes my voice. Except when suddenly, it doesn’t.
