I'm not angry. There's a difference between being angry and having a civilized argument that DOESN'T involve name calling.
iAd Gallery is a free download. I would certainly hope so.
Could you imagine a TV channel that is nothing but ads? In a way QVC/HSN are a little bit like that. I just hope iAD Gallery wont be hawking porcelain figurines, food dehydrators, and authentic, genuine, faux diamonelle rings.

Yes, you have the right to your own opinion and I am quite chilled, thank you. Also, I never directly made a comment about you or your character as I really don't know you at all and I can safely say I have no opinion of you one way or the other.

Opinion...yes. Have one. Share it. Talk all you want about how useless this app is. It may in fact be useless to some people. There are tons of useless apps out there. I don't like them. I have them. I've waisted time downloading them. The problem here isn't opinions....the problem is labeling. If your opinion is that you hate the app and it's worthless, then great. If anyone thinks their "opinion" is that downloaders of the app are morons, then now you're labeling people. And that my friend is wrong. I am amazed at the bashing on this site. I rarely read the posts anymore because its filled with people slamming something they don't understand or don't like. Some poor unexpected person shares his or her opinion and the people here light up and start flaming.
Sad. I actually like the app and find it useful. I don't find Doodle Jump useful but I don't think people that do are morons. I try real hard not to label people. So start flaming and jumping all over me for being this or that. Just sad.

Hi guys long time lurker here. I just downloaded this using a US itunes accounts out of curiousity as I've never seen a real iAd (I don't think we get them in Ireland).
Anyway when I browse the list of ads there are a total of 12 ads altogether... (the ones in the screenshot in the article are there too, I believe these might be a complete list... that was the intention right?)

If Google or anyone else had done this - everyone would be laughing there asses off. And so it stands to reason, that this "app" is completely laughable. And pathetic....

Well then, I'll do brogers a favor and reply on his behalf. I think you've again misinterpreted another persons emotions. I don't see that brogers is angry, he's simply disappointed at the number of forum members who resort to name calling and labeling when they don't agree with another's opinion. (Something I've been vehemently opposed to as well my entire life) Also, he is not trying to tell you what you can and can't say. The beginning of his post clearly states you can say whatever you want. Again, he's simply disappointed that ones right to freedom of speech on this forum usually ends with name calling. I find it highly ironic that YOU want to leave this forum because of too many ignorant people.
Dear macrumors newbie and all the others who simply don't get this,
I can only assume none of you have either a creative or entrepreneurial gene in your bodies. Even if all you hope to be is moderately successful at communicating, an appreciation of the work of ad agencies would be useful.
I designed my first ad when I was 19. It was a poster for a charity disco. We made money. Unconsciously I had distilled all the information I needed from all the ads I'd seen up to that point, and made something that worked. It was never as easy ever again.
If you ever want to be really successful and maybe even wealthy, then this app is vital. All the current iAds in one place - no searching needed. For goodness sake use your imaginations, please.

Wow. The ignorance of the average user of this forum is unbelievable, So much ranting about an app that nobody has to download if they hate ads so much.
In any case, this is no different than the many many websites, blogs , YouTube accounts etc dedicated exclusively to collect tv, radio, and paper advertising from many countries. There's a lot of people who like to see ads and analyze the creativity and technique behind them.

Unfortunately, Clukas's quote above is a perfect example of how the majority of the board is reacting to this post. 'Lost cause', 'loser', 'moron', 'has no life' are all insults I've seen all over this posting. Incredibly immature and unnecessary if you ask me.

You will only see iAds if the apps you use have implemented them. Most Paid apps don't have them, only free apps with ad support. iAds are not banners on safari or pop ups screens. They're like interactive applets within the app you're using. iAds are usually seen in free news apps such as the guardian or huffington post. So if you mostly use paid apps you will never see a iAd.

There are people, they're often called socialists, who believe that it's somehow unfair that a few people make more money than everyone else. These same people probably applaud when stores get looted in a crisis, protests or during civil unrest.
An ad, a good ad, is like a mini movie. It tells a story. The people who make these ads are very often [though not exclusively] Apple users.
I think what we're witnessing here in response to this story is the effect of the new breed of Apple buyer - a creature with the resources to afford the best, but non of the appreciation to discern the value of anything.
