What are you doing on your phone each day? I wish that people would understand that battery life is completely subjective. If I do nothing but iMessage all day, I guarantee that my battery life is going to be a lot greater than someone who has push email on all day, plays games, streams videos/music, etc.[doublepost=1485272056][/doublepost]

Nice image, gives me an image to think about to what I now call "Taking a Trump…"I thought we already had that!

If someone updated and ran into something as serious as that you'd already see it in a thread like this one.Can anyone who successfully updated on iPadMini 4 to confirm it wasn't bricked , please?
FYI - You can subscribe to security-announce@lists.apple.com here - http://apple.co/2jNZuov - to receive emails from Apple regarding the security details of every update released. For all we know this version has the NSA snooper code built in. Does anyone else think it is juvenile that Apple does not release any change notes. I know that its been this way under Jobs, but I have a real problem not knowing what changes have occurred and deciding if those changes are worth the risk of being an initial guinea pig.

Yup, they forced you to upgrade. For once Apple please do something useful by giving us dark mode

Its planned obsolescence. Apple rendered my iPhone 6 useless ever since iOS 8 and forced me to upgrade to iPhone 7
People who say this "forced to upgrade" just cracks me up.
Somehow it doesn't seem that that's how "forced me to upgrade to iPhone 7" would work...don't think there's any nagging there. When Applehole nags the crap out of users to upgrade when some choose to stick with an older iOS--every frickin' day--that is pretty much a forced upgrade to the average user.
I just updated my iPad mini 4 and it seems to be working fine.
I quoted a guy who was forced to get a new iPhone...When Applehole nags the crap out of users to upgrade when some choose to stick with an older iOS--every frickin' day--that is pretty much a forced upgrade to the average user.
I'm noticing that several threads in iMessage are missing all messages since January 8. No pattern that I can see. Some group threads and some single threads are effected, others aren't.
But only on my iPad Pro. No such problem on my iPhone 6S or iPhone 5S.
I updated several hours ago and also did a restart a few minutes ago.
[doublepost=1485742712][/doublepost]If you have an older iPhone, DON'T UPGRADE TO 10.2.1. I made the mistake of upgrading my iPhone 6 and the phone's performance took a nosedive immediately. I even restored it from iTunes which made no improvement. I'm now trying to download my apps from the App Store and it is taking FOREVER. I can't connect to the App Store half of the time, and when I am able to start the download, I usually receive an error message before it completes. What a disappointment! Has anyone else with an older iPhone experienced the same? If so, did you find any methods for improving performance? If so, please share.
Apple today released iOS 10.2.1 to the public following several weeks of testing. iOS 10.2.1 also comes more than a month after the release of iOS 10.2, the second major update to the iOS 10 operating system.
iOS 10.2.1 is a free over-the-air update available to all iOS 10 users. It can also be downloaded and installed on iOS devices using iTunes on a Mac or PC. The update is still rolling out and may not be immediately available on all devices.

No outward-facing changes or new features were discovered during the beta testing process, suggesting the update focuses on bug fixes and performance improvements. According to Apple's own release notes for iOS 10.2.1, the update brings unspecified bug fixes and security improvements.
The iOS 10.2.1 update will soon be followed by a new iOS 10.3 beta, if rumors are correct. The first iOS 10.3 beta, with a new "Theatre Mode" was rumored to be coming out on January 10, but has not yet appeared.

Forcing my iPhone to run a version it cant handle and not giving me a means to downgrade is the equivalent of putting a gun to my head and forcing me to upgrade. I have better things to do all day then wait for my iPhone to do the things I want it to doYup, they forced you to upgrade. They put a gun to your head and said "you must upgrade". Yet my iPhone 5 for work running the latest OS is fine and I have an iPhone 7 for personal. There is a guy here at work with an iPhone 4 and is happy. He told me it was running slow a while back and didn't want to upgrade. I suggest doing a full restore and he's been happy ever since.

It is your phone. I`ve got an iPhone 6, everything works smooth.[doublepost=1485742712][/doublepost]If you have an older iPhone, DON'T UPGRADE TO 10.2.1. You will be happy, trust me. I`m already! They fixed it, finally. Those poor guys who spent money for nothing.I finally got around to updating my 6s to iOS 10.2.1 yesterday. Already notice some battery improvement today.

Thank god they managed to fix that bug before iOS 10.3. Even the Facebook App doesn´t suck my battery anymore. In the past? No comment... I`m satisfied again! Well done Apple!Granted I use my phone a lot during the day at work (social media, texts, email, music streaming). But I'm quite pleased with this update and what it's doing for my battery.
I have yet to wait all day for my iPhone 5 to do stuff. You're exaggerating, and all I hear is you complaining about it. If you have that many issues, there are other phone makers out there.Pretty simple really. The latest version of iOS slows down the phone. Force the user by whatever means necessary to upgrade to that version. The latest version will frustrate him to the point he will throw the device at the wall and get a new iPhone
