Xcode 8.2 was also released this morning.
Besides bugs and fixes, here's the only exciting add-on:

• Simulator installs an app by drag-and-drop onto the Simulator windows.

I've been busy all day, so I haven't had a chance to tried it yet. If you do, please let us know. Thanks!

How would you go back to that particular 10.1.1 build?
[doublepost=1481658951][/doublepost]
You can use a backup from an older iOS version but that won't install the older iOS version itself.

Apple is still signing version 10.1.1, so I downloaded the firmware I want here:
ipsw.me
Restore completely, I do it through itunes
I'm not interested in doing it with a backup.

I guess I was thinking that they might not be signing that earlier 10.1.1 build and still had it available for download, but looks like both 10.1.1. builds might still be signed, and even 10.1 too.

Yes, but for me 10.1.1 14B100 works well.

Volume on the alarm clock is messed up. Anyone notice that it's only about half as loud?

Sorry, I am thoroughly confused by the comments here. I haven't upgraded to 10.2 because I am in the midst of returning a 7+ for a 6s+, from what I've read here: You cannot access the Video App and your home videos while using WiFi.

But if I can delete TV App and keep the Video app, yes please; but still having to shut off wifi is dumb especially if I pause the film to check email, text or something online.

I purchase or rip my video content and have no need for another not ready for anytime service from Apple. If the video app is neutered now, then I will capitulate and buy Infuse 5 since I have a variety of video formats.

My initial reaction was my library appeared gone; the layout is quite different. Yes you can view your content, but only partially? I've over 300 movies and now can only see like 10 or so - very short scroll list; my initial reaction was my library is all but gone. But, the biggest pain was that the display orientation is now fixed - landscape with my iphone 6 power buttons down - not user friendly if you want to adjust audio via buttons. For some 4x3 movies it was nice to see them portrait mode (vlc).

So I trashed the "tv" app and went to see if I could download the "videos" app - no joy; so went the route of finding where to get the bonafide 10.1 download, installed that and restored my last (content) backup. All smiles now after a tense 24 hours. I was in the midst of attempting to stream from an HD attached to my airport extreme but it's not supported, so I'll probably go the "mini" route to develop an itunes server (moving from a macpro '12 desktop).

IMHO if they wanted to attract / redo the "TV" / streaming experience by all means do that but leave videos ALONE; ditto for the music app. I guess that's the price of quality, you have to break things to get people to notice you changed something !?

Alas, I guess I'm old school - I *PAY* for my music / video, store them them on a server using the cd/dvd media as a backup, and stream from one of my 3 (!) Apple TVs.

I'm all for s/w upgrade, but it really pains me that I cannot even pay for something, that once it's working, to be left the heck alone.

So many complain on TV apps, I wanna try also no chances. (I not going to sign using US iTunes account as I can't purchase any there as I don't have valid US address to register any of my credit card).

Thank you for elaborating. I, too, pay for all of my video & music content (either iTunes or purchasing and rip for my own use only). I see where the library list can be a pain when you have that much content stored. I am constantly adding and removing items from my iMac and iPhone (and now moreso with the phone).

I agree with your comments. Leave the music and video apps alone; sure, create those streaming apps with the option to install / remove any of these which you do not use. The constant switching of controls in iTunes isn't fun at all but I am glad you were able to revert to 10.1.

I don't watch tv on my phone either, I use an Apple TV on my 65" :) The TV app is for the Apple TV too.
Oh ok. I just assumed you were talking about iOS since this is an iOS thread. But to your point, it is odd that Hulu would be there and not Netflix.

If you are being sarcastic and really not happy with 10.2, you should downgrade back to 10.1.1 while you still can. Should be able to for a day or two but sooner the better in case they close it down.
Yes, this was sarcastic. Everything seems fine now.

Yes, at last, NO VioceControl and/or Sire under the home button. Thank the Lord, or who ever made these changes!!!

I have been using VLC for iOS for quite a while--much better than Videos was for me since I sync via iTunes and can select which videos I want in the Apps window without having to rely on Apples inconsistency. It's unfortunate when 3rd party options are miles ahead in usability than the company most known for usability.

I am thinking Apple have lost their senior/high-end software developers or they are outsourcing development overseas. Quality has dropped considerably and there seems to be a disconnect between Apple management and the software products they are producing--like they don't both work for the same company.

Glad I upgraded to iPad Air 2 and 6s+ last year, and 2015 13" MBP this year. Disappointed in their recent hardware direction too, and it doesn't seem like it will turn around any time soon.

I've been using VLC for iOS for a while as well, since the prior change to Videos app and Music app which moved music videos from playing under Videos to playing under Music. (I don't want to play videos in the Music app, thanks anyway; besides I replaced using the Music app with Ecoute long ago.)

Although I haven't updated yet, from what I read here I'll have to manually put TV shows into VLC to watch them there, since like so many others I actually pay for my shows rather than stream them. I don't even use iTunes for podcasts anymore, instead letting the iCatcher podcast app download directly onto my iPhone. So now the only thing the iTunes to iPhone syncing is doing for me is updating the music library (since the Ecoute app does just use the normal library). So now I'm sitting here wondering why I should bother doing everything manually that used to be done for me automatically.

With every update, a reason for me to remain within the entire Apple 'ecosystem' is removed. I am obviously not within whatever market Apple is targeting. I'm honestly wondering why I shouldn't start moving over to an Android phone (and let Google track me everywhere), and a Linux desktop, since the iPhone-Mac seems to have no advantage for me for the things I do.

Well, at least I won't have to bother waiting for a new MacMini anymore.

Star rating is back in the Music App!!

I had hoped it would fix the GPS issues with my iPhone 7, but unfortunately not, so I guess it's a hardware problem and I will need to ask for a replacement (the third).

Update failed, phone stuck on reboot loop, can't restore via iTunes, can't exit recovery mode via reiboot.

Looks like my 5S might've been bricked by this update. So angry right now.

I can't believe so many people use the video app. Everyone I know has had it in their "Junk" folder for years. YouTube, Netflix, and iTunes all let me download movies, shows, and videos to watch offline in the rare circumstance I want to watch something on my phone and won't have internet. And I use the Photos app to watch videos recorded on my phone.

One thing 10.2 did do is fix Bluetooth with my Hyundai Elantra. I had to re-pair my 7+ almost every single day since September because it would constantly fail to connect, until 10.2. Phew!

I guess I was thinking that they might not be signing that earlier 10.1.1 build and still had it available for download, but looks like both 10.1.1. builds might still be signed, and even 10.1 too.

Regarding my missing video content copied through iTunes to my iPhone and now not visible or accessible in the new iOS 10.2 TV app, the tech I chatted with suggested a complete restore to stock condition to see if that fixes the problem.

If I'm going to go that trouble, I'll simply reinstall 10.1.1 and wait for this mess with 10.2 to get fixed.

IPSW files also available from the iPhone Wiki.

In case anybody is still reading this thread...
I had not saved a backup from 10.1.1, so I was forced to do a clean install of 10.2. And now.. there's a "Downloaded" heading in my TV library that has all my installed videos. Hooray! Something wasn't working right, sure enough, and the tech's idea to do a backup and restore turned out to be just the ticket.

I'm confused as to why my iphone 6S is not giving me the choice to update to 10.2. How is everyone doing this?

What version of iOS do you already have on your phone? Are you getting any newer version offered as an update when you check for updates?
