Ah ok. Wasnt aware that was its full intent. I was more thinking of the single sign-on deal whereby you wouldn't have to login but once. As I understand its mostly for tv subscription services that require you to login to your providers service to view certain channels. Netflix isnt really a cable subscription channel but then neither is Hulu and its in the list. I dont watch TV on my 4.7" telephone screen I use a 65" HD tv for that :) So I am not using the TV app itself for anything.

I don't watch tv on my phone either, I use an Apple TV on my 65" :) The TV app is for the Apple TV too.

Check out the app Infuse. I just downloaded it yesterday. I like it much better than the TV app and it syncs with iTunes library, supports split view, PIP and AirPlay. I have no intention of going back to the TV app anytime soon.

I'll check it out, thanks! :)

I agree. I haven't updated my iPhone 6s Plus to iOS 10 because of what happen after updating my iPad mini.

The iPad mini is unusable almost. Especially Safari. So laggy.
I reverted my iPad to iOS 9 and I'm very unhappy about that. Apple should say that certain models won't be supported due to speed issues instead of bricking our fine hardware with iOS updates that annoy the hell out of us.

I think they hope they annoy you enough to upgrade. My mom's iPhone 5s runs ok with iOS 10, but I have a feeling iOS 11 will probably make it laggy. Then again, it will probably need to replaced next year anyway since it will be 3 years old in March.

The TV app is half baked. It now takes 2 or 3 extra steps to play my home videos. It looks like they deleted the delete function which makes no sense. Information that was previously listed is gone, basically only the title and time is left. This has become typical Apple, changing a core app for their benefit at the expense of ease of use for us. Give us a dedicated app for our home videos and restore it to what it was. It's like Apple decided to give us all a lump of coal for Christmas.

Can't imagine how this was tested; no rotation support which is key for me, depending where the plug is, what stand I'm using etc; the user should decide - the telecomm rule of "receiver makes it right".

Thankfully I was able to locate the "ipsw" signed 10.1 software bits and reverted so I'm good.

I'm old school (ex-DECie vt user) so I type the silly "smily" cons myself, 'cause I know how - it is after all f-n-text :)

Oh boy...video app gone. Nice.

Question, can you delete the TV app like Apple Music?

Will definitely pick up Infuse 5 and Infuse Pro for video playback. Thanks @Rogifan for the app tip and everything you've posted about this.

Another question is there a music app that is less bloated than Apple Music that allows you to upload both iTunes and your music too?

I really disliked iOS 9, but at this point, I would prefer that to the almost unusable iOS 10.

I didn't mind iOS 8. I might try to go back to that.

There really isn't much of a way to go back to previous versions (aside from a typically short period of time when the previous version might still be signed by Apple after a new version is released).

I do have AT&T and my model #: MN5F2LL/A
Yup, that would be a A1784, Intel-radio-based iPhone.

(A client picked up an iPhone 7 Plus from Target the other day, and I asked about how they handled inventory on Balck Friday between two iPhone models each with two different family models… was told, "We only carry one of each." Which were the A1660 and A1661 models, the Qualcomm-based model, and they sold them to everyone regardless of their provider. That was news to me.)

You can't use an old back up? Oh well, that sucks.

I'm having problems ei

Apple today released iOS 10.2 to the public, marking the launch of the second major update to the iOS 10 operating system since it launched on September 13. iOS 10.2 has been in testing since October 31, with seven betas seeded to developers and public beta testers.

The iOS 10.2 update is available as a free-over-the-air update for all iOS 10 users, and it can also be downloaded via iTunes.

As a major 10.x update, iOS 10.2 introduces new features and design tweaks to iOS 10. It includes a new "TV" app, which is designed to serve as an Apple-designed TV guide that aims to simplfy the television-watching experience and help users discover new TV shows and movies to watch.

Along with the TV app, Apple recently debuted the long-awaited Single Sign-On feature, allowing cable subscribers to sign in once with their cable credentials to access all live cable content available within various apps. Single Sign-On is currently available for CenturyLink Prism, DirecTV, Dish, GVTC, GTA, Hawaiian Telcom, Hotwire, Metrocast, Service Electric, and Sling TV. Both Single Sign-On and the TV app are available across multiple devices, including the Apple TV.

A range of new emoji are included in the update, like clown face, face palm, selfie, fox face, owl, bacon, avocado, croissant, and more. There are more than a hundred new emoji, including several profession emoji available in both male and female genders. Apple has also redesigned many existing emoji, adding more detail to make them look more realistic.

iOS 10.2 also includes new wallpaper, revamped sorting options and some design tweaks to the Repeat and Shuffle buttons in the Music app, new "Celebrate" and "Send With Love" Screen Effects, an option for preserving camera settings, a new "Saved" stories section in News, a TV widget, and new TV settings.

Multiple Photos improvements have been included, such as improved stabilization and faster frame rates for Live Photos. The accuracy of groupings of similar photos of the same person has been improved in the People album, and an issue causing Photos to generate memories using screenshots, whiteboards, or receipts has been fixed.

To see all of the changes that were introduced throughout the beta testing period, make sure to check out our beta videos: Beta 1, Beta 2, Beta
[doublepost=1481655213][/doublepost]Since updating to 10.2 my earpods inline controls no longer functions. I cannot pause, skip or rewind music or podcasts. I'm positive that my EarPods work, it has to be the software

Sorry, I am thoroughly confused by the comments here. I haven't upgraded to 10.2 because I am in the midst of returning a 7+ for a 6s+, from what I've read here: You cannot access the Video App and your home videos while using WiFi.

But if I can delete TV App and keep the Video app, yes please; but still having to shut off wifi is dumb especially if I pause the film to check email, text or something online.

I purchase or rip my video content and have no need for another not ready for anytime service from Apple. If the video app is neutered now, then I will capitulate and buy Infuse 5 since I have a variety of video formats.

Outside the US the video app remains on 10.2 :p(until Apple extends the TV app functionality to other countries as well that is ...)

As for a music app ... I do use VLC extensively (and for ages now) on MacOS, Windows and Android for music and video playback. I have been very happy with VLC

Tried it on iOS a while back but do not remember if I liked it ...

Just give it a try, VLC might solve your video playback issues too :)

Same here. 6S, I did restore and it didn´t work
I´ll go back to 10.1.1 Build 14B100 (14B150 eat battery life)

Purchases movies are not shown
How would you go back to that particular 10.1.1 build?

You can use a backup from an older iOS version but that won't install the older iOS version itself.

I guess I am screwed then. I didn't know, I never had to go back to an old iOS before.

iOS 10 runs horribly on the iPad Mini 2, and unless it is fixed with an update, I will be stuck with it. It is a shame, because under iOS 8 and iOS 9 the iPad was really smooth. Now, it is so laggy, and some websites like this one are almost unusable.

Planned obsolescence? Maybe

In the Music app it used to be possible to choose how songs were sorted, by artist or title.
That option doesn't appear in Settings anymore.
Can anyone suggest another way?

From Apple's side of things it's likely much simpler than that--having more people on the latest possible version to avoid more fragmentation and make sure more people have the latest security updates installed.
