Anyone on EE UK who doesn't have a MMS bundle tested all these new animations in text know if they are chargable?

• I get charged approx 40p per MMS so never use it - I e-mail

• may it be different if sent non imessage ie free for imessage chargable for normal message

Haven't used yet as dont want any nasty surprises on my bill.

Thanks in advance

Maybe because it's something wrong with your phone.

Mine looks different than yours. Probably because I have multiple Twitter accounts that I manage.

iOS devices are made for playing with emojis and Microsoft Surface devices are made for the real and serious work.

Hi
I'm in the UK and have the Videos app on 10.2
Thanks for the reply ! That means the app should still be there. Anyway I checked ny setting and while my timezone is set to Hongkong my region is set to: US. Now I changed the region to UK, rebooted but alas the TV is still there.

Ok this seems to be pretty much a one-way-street.
Even if I remove the tv app I can't get the videos app (https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/videos/id1108188158?mt=8) back. The download cloud icon is greyed our. No matter if I change my phone Region to U.K. ... stupid

It's really a shame when iOS users have to spend money for a decent media player with the capabilities you would expect in a smartphone in 2016 (like robust file compatibility). I understand why in the past third party companies would come up with a better option than the native app, but by now Apple should have no excuses with all of their experience. Either get it right or buy a company with people who have already gotten it right. At least don't take our "it's basic, but it works" Videos app away.

By the way, no solution from the online chat I had with 'Terrence', a senior adviser at Apple. Maybe we'll find out more tomorrow? That 'toggle off the Wifi' option is a joke.
I got forwarded to a senior advisor who was super nice. We were on the phone together for over an hour. The first person I talked to didn't know squat but thankfully he knew enough to send me on to someone else.

From the release notes I was under the impression the TV app is US only (I am in Hongkong):

Quote (https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1893?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US):

iOS 10.2 introduces new features including the TV app (US Only)

So anyone here still has the old videos app ?

Or are the release notes wrong ?
Oh sorry. I'm not sure what people outside the US see. Here in the US you can't get the old videos app back.

Just sent a couple of the new emoji's (eg Technologist) to a colleagues iPhone running 10.1.1 and it's completely locking the handset up, unless they have the messages app open and active.

One off, or bug?

Jeez, I hope Apple fixes this missing-Videos-app debacle before they roll the new TV app out to the UK.
I, for, one, cannot live without my own synced video content (I have a TON of TV show DVDs which I painstakingly rip and title), and I have no interest in yet another Store-type app to try and push buyable / subscription content on to me (like they did with the Music app) when I just want to watch my own ripped content.

I'm surprised Apple "allowed" us to continue to listen to our own ripped Music in iOS 10, instead of making it so that we could only listen to music purchased from iTunes!
(Sarcasm, yes, but realistically, this is exactly what they've done with our videos now.)

Hopefully over the air update won't crash our phones.
Hmm am I just lucky? the last time an uta update broke somthing for me was somwhere in ios 7.x, but then again, I'm not stuck with a crappy US carirer, for som reason they allways seem to have the most problems

Yeah hopefully, just a pain getting time to book in appointment, wipe phone, re set up phone etc lol... my phone has already been replaced as my original handset headphone port randomly broke lol and I cant be bothered to waste time/screenshiels etc lol D:... Also hate they replace with a refurb and not a new phone...

Will see how I feel, I upgrade in March anyway so could get by on a backup battery :/

Well, my g/f could not be happier with the refurb she got. Battery still at 50% after coming home from work. Usually, she her battery was 50% and shutting off after 2 hours after leaving the house. Also, she just had her phone into Apple for a new back camera (dead pixels), which they repaired.

That's been my issue too- it takes too long to scroll through a million icons to find the one I'm looking for. I know Apple is trying the feature where words are highlighted to change to icons, but still seems a bit clunky for me at least. I'm sure teens/kids are faster at it!
Theres a button that saves your most used ones..try that out!

Lol we've officially run out of things to get worked up about and complain about. This is just scraping the bottom of the barrel. Seriously wallpapers? You can get millions of great wallpapers online, who even uses the Apple provided wallpapers?

Again. Not about the wallpaper. It's Apple's attitude towards older devices I don't like.

My 6 was on the latest beta (B7); delete the beta profile from Settings, reboot, and now it appears that the phone is "up to date" as the build number hasn't changed and I haven't been prompted to update to anything.

Don't think the battery issue has been resolved though; my 6s with a new battery has been on B6 with amazing battery life (at least what's being reported by stats), enough that I'm almost afraid of getting off the beta as I don't want to jinx it...

I have been on he public beta but no longer want to be.

Other than deleting the developer profile, do I need to do a clean restore of 10.2?

I have the latest beta

If that is happening on iOS 10.x, it is a regression of a bug I had filed and had fixed in 9.2. It took Apple until 9.3.3 to fix the same "issue" when answering using FaceTime vs the Phone.app. It also completely ignored the setting in Settings > General > Accessibility: Interaction: Call Audio Routing. It wasn't until I filed it as an Accessibility bug and sent my bug report to Tim Cook's mail address with a blurb quoting him about how important Accessibility was to Apple that it got completely fixed. So I can't even muster the energy at this point to comment on how upset I'd be if this regressed. I just can't.

When you Connect a Bluetooth audio device after iOS 9, iOS automagically grabs and sets the device as the AirPlay audio output device. Can't change the behavior. One of the SIDE effects of this is that Notification sounds get diverted too. (I'm assuming this is the issue you're referring to.) I have been unable to completely determine, but I think this automagic "grabbing" only occurs with A2DP devices. Apple hasn't/can't/won't tell me what they know. But my headset—a Plantronics m165—advertises as A2DP/AVRCP (even though it is not stereo) for only the FIRST device it Connects to; it can multi-connect, and it Connects to subsequent devices as HFP… when my iPhone Connects as a secondary HFP device, I don't see the m165 in the AirPlay list, and it doesn't get grabbed (I hear Notification sounds out the iPhone speaker). I've filed against this and got it returned as Works as Intended (which it clearly does NOT). I have NOT tested against iOS 10, however I am aware that the AirPlay menu in Control Center is functionally VERY different and likely MUCH MORE BURDENSOME to change than iOS 9. Again, I tried reporting this as an Accessibility issue (which it very much is for me, hearing impaired) to no avail. I also tried to file as a Feature Enhancement suggesting Apple tie Notification sounds to the ringtone behavior, where ringtones are played by BOTH Bluetooth devices AND through the iPhone speaker, making it an Hearing Accessibility setting if nothing else. No dice.

What model iPhone 7 Plus do you have? The one with a Qualcomm radio or one with an Intel radio? Intel radio owners (typically AT&T or T-Mobile) have seen this. HOWEVER! Make sure you go into your Settings > General > About and google the Model you find there! Depending on where an AT&T/T-Mo subscriber purchases the iPhone, they could actually get a Qualcomm radio! If you bought at a Target or Best Buy, or other electronics store, vs from Apple or a carrier store, you might have a Qualcomm model even though you're an AT&T or T-Mo customer. Apparently, Apple is doing that to make supply chain distribution simpler: one model, all networks. (The reason I mention is because I see some AT&T users saying "I don't have that issue." Well, maybe you don't have THAT iPHONE, and you'd maybe not know any better.)

I do have AT&T and my model #: MN5F2LL/A

I don't get this TV app. Of all the channel apps I have installed, the only two it added was Starz and Showtime. Everything else like Epix, HBO Go, Max Go, TV Land, I still have to open the app itself for content. Plus I see no place for my DirectV Now account.

What's happening!

I installed this for the security patches. The TV app is left in a folder of Apple stuff that I rarely or don't use.

See the different cloud icons. In the video app it's greyed out:

Damn I want the videos app back ...

Check out the app Infuse. I just downloaded it yesterday. I like it much better than the TV app and it syncs with iTunes library, supports split view, PIP and AirPlay. I have no intention of going back to the TV app anytime soon.

Man, the TV app on my iPhone is a big fat fail. I want to use Plex or VLC instead, but they can't just load up files I've copied onto my phone. Hopefully, there's another app out there that will work.
