How many prior updates have done something like that (out of how many updates)?
I have personally been burned by iOS 9.3 with my iPad Pro last Spring. It was completely bricked and had to be replaced by the Apple Store (and that replacement had to be ordered since they didn't have any in stock). Also my sister had a similar issue last fall with iOS 10.0. While I have updated many many times before and since with no issue, it only takes one time of being burned to cause me to approach Apple updates with apprehension.

Why did I have to insert my MacBook Pro's password before it completed the update to 10.3 on my iPad Air?

So basically just a small fraction of a percent of previous updates (more or less in the scope of reality of something being off here or there with most things out there at some point).

Weird things happen all the time with all kinds of things throughout the world. There have been some more widespread issues with a couple or so updates, as is basically the case with most software and products out there, but certainly nothing on the level of it being even close to common enough to be worrisome.
Oh don't get me wrong...I plan to update but I just don't do it at 1:03pm on release day (like I used to before my iOS 9.3 situation). I will probably do it tonight if there aren't any reports of issues.

I did all 7 public betas of iOS 10.3 and they were all very snappy. However I did not notice any optimization of my storage with the APFS. I kept hearing we might get a couple GBs back with its implementation, but I didnt see that. Cant wait to get home to some wifi and download the final version.

On my 256gb iPhone 7 I had 82gb free before update. After update of iOS and a few apps I now have 99gb free.
I didnt see any increase in storage size after any of the betas. Hopefully the final release will fix that.

Does the iPhone 5 make it through the 10.3 update, if so is the 32-bit nag screen annoying? Can it be turned off?

Does this fix the notification sounds bug where it doesn't always alert you that you have a new message?
Does this fix the long standing WiFi bug where you have to turn WiFi off and then back on to get Safari to work?

Sorry to bring you bad news but I don't think you will see an increase if your iPhone is already on the new APFS file system.

Just update, you won't regret it, speed improves quite a bit, I don't have the those notification bugs anymore, had them before too, not in the last few beta's though.

I still have ios 9 on my iPhone 6s. It works great and battery life is also good. I haven't upgraded to ios10 because i have serious doubts that I will see any real benefit. Am I wrong for not upgrading?

iOS 10 made my iPhone 6 much worse. Slower and about 2/3 the battery life.

And I did a full 100% fresh install with no restore.

I would absolutely love to go back to 9.3, but alas, Apple doesn't give a hoot.

Very wrong actually! Do you not care about security? The updates are free and folks are still finding reasons not to enjoy new features and security enhancements.

Some people care about performance, battery life, and a lot of the "new features" make things worse.

That it's "free" means nothing when it's permanent and can be detrimental, as was the case for me with iOS 10 on iPhone 6.
