In our geeky office, three of us decided to be adventurous and upgrade to iOS10 this morning.

The result... Bricked. All three! (Well, temporarily, it looks recoverable). Obviously we have something in common that is incompatible with iOS10.

We're busy recovering our phones now. There goes this morning's productivity.

Figure I'll wait until I get home and do it all through iTunes. Only three more hours anyway. Then the servers may not be as pounded, either.

If it has already downloaded the update over air and is preparing the update, how do I stop it?
Unfortunately, there is no stopping (no would I try to, since there may be a process in place). You can recover from it, so you should be ok afterwards.

NOTES
What's happening?
The OTA update version might be corrupt. The update will download completely, verify prior to install, go into the Apple update screen, then crash into the "Plug into iTunes" screen. The update bar went as far as about 75% - 80%.

Who is affected?
So far, only iPad Pros, iPhone 6S / S+ and iPhone SEs have complained of corrupt installs. All of those who have complained used OTA updates, so it may affect more.

What do I do?
1.) DO NOT USE OTA UPDATES - it's the most common culprit in the bunch. Avoid it like the plague.
2.) IF YOU ARE UPDATING, USE USB + iTUNES. Those who have been successful have used the iTunes download. Slower, but working.
3.) IF YOU ARE BRICKED - Plug into iTunes and use "Update" to clear out your problem. You don't need to do a full restore, thankfully. I've done a simple update and everything worked swimmingly.

Should be common knowledge to all Apple i users anyhow. :p

FYI, I did this and the Update after plugging in to iTunes failed. I hope it works for most people but at this point it seems that it is not guaranteed to work.

Quick everyone, download it now and report the bugs so Apple can get the 0.1 update out for me to use!

I'm going to wait a few days before upgrading and let everyone else find all the bugs and problems with it as per all the previous iOS upgrades. They'll probably rush out 10.0.1 by the weekend.
OK they have 10.0.1 out. You guys can update now.

Let's see.. iMessages were perfect, they were the most important feature keeping me with an iPhone.
Now it's just pure cr@p for a 5-year old.
Maps - never use them. No slide to open my phone - why? Just to mess up with something everyone likes?
Haven't noticed any other "changes"...
Wow, perhaps you should read the release notes pages or look through your device a bit more for those "changes" you dont see.

iPad Pro 9.7 failed OTA. Updated via iTunes. Now working well. Waiting for the same for my iPhone 6S hopefully...

Still not a brick. A brick means it's not being repaired, ever.

I am RIGHT and you WRONG...nanananananananana!!!! Semantics, my phone quite working after the update.

I have another 90min before iTunes finishes downloading 9.3.5 to see if I can downgrade it to see if it works.

Did you get an error telling you update failed? Check your downloads in iTunes - I got the same error but it was downloading the update. Once it downloaded, then I tried again and it worked and successfully updated my iPhone 6s+.

Sorry to hear that, Winterflags. I've updated the post.
