Tried the OTA update for my iPad Pro 12.9, did the download and tried to install but got the connect to itunes half way through so i connected to itunes and updated to previous version

Unplugged from itunes went back into settings and did the OTA to ios 10 and this time it worked.

I always use my iPad as a test run, i'll hold off on the 6s+ for a day or two

bricked my 6s - over the air. at work can't restore. oh well. (yes, I know the definition of bricked - i am using the term loosely here).

Installed the update over the air on my 6S and now getting the "bricked" screen (Connect to iTunes). Will connect to my PC and see what happens...

This happens every time. Nothing new sadly.

Apple simply can't cope with mass roll-outs - software or hardware.

I have had an iPhone since the 3G and I always update OTA on day one. Never had an issue. It looks like a lot of people across iPad's and iPhones are having the same issue.

It seems like this is an issue with newer devices. Folks with iPhone 6 and iPad air 2 seem to not have this issue. But 6s and iPad pro users do.

I took a chance. Normally I wait until later in the evening and I always update through iTunes. I was so excited about iOS 10 that I updated OTA. Downloaded fine. Did it's update, then told me to connect to iTunes. Not only that. iTunes has been giving me an error not being able to connect to iTunes library. I feel like I may have just lost my phone for the day!

I didn't have to update iTunes or restore my phone.... I plugged into iTunes and hit 'Update'. It verified the software and phone is now working, took about 5 minutes. A huge pain if you're not near a computer, but at least I didn't have to do a full restore.

Bricked OTA to a 6S
Gave me the "plug into iTunes screen"
Downloaded new iTunes
Plugged in, got the message that iOS 10 is available
Took some time to download
Now installing on the phone

There's hope (if you brought your Mac to work, which I did)

It worked, but my screen is VERY dim (brightness up, auto off) and the phone can fry an egg...once the back-up is done, I'll reboot it.

Bricked my 6s+ when it "finished" installing at 10:40am. Now I'm stuck with no phone until I get off work at 7pm... this is bs.

Also looks like iCloud Music Library is down for macOS iTunes and Apple's really cool "throw a dialog every 30 seconds" UX approach is in full effect. Also was having a weird issue where rather than greying out all my offline music, iTunes would simply bump me into the Apple Music upsell screen every time I hit play on a track. Nice to see Apple has perfected the smooth rollout after all those rocky years past.

I am RIGHT and you WRONG...nanananananananana!!!! Semantics, my phone quite working after the update.

I have another 90min before iTunes finishes downloading 9.3.5 to see if I can downgrade it to see if it works.

Well, there is right and there is wrong. You can use the word whatever way you please I suppose, doesn't magically make it correct. Whatever though, use them words however you want!

Anyone else have their Apple TV Remote app ask to update a million times after iOS 10? A restart fixed that for me. Just FYI (6s+).

That feeling when your devices have begun the upgrade process and you see this thread on Twitter.

If your phone gets bricked then hold the home and power for 10 seconds then release the power button and keep holing till iTunes sees it as a Restore device then reinstall OS from Itunes

So I can't view only Downloaded Music in either Album or Playlist view? If I go into the "Downloaded Music" section I am greeted by recently added and then everything in a massive square list thing? This sucks.

Yep this is happening to me on my 6S. Air 2 updated fine. Backups are a thing so it's only time that's wasted.

Unfortunately, there is no stopping (no would I try to, since there may be a process in place). You can recover from it, so you should be ok afterwards.
Put on airplane mode and drain your battery to below 50%. Then come off airplane mode and it will finish downloading but it won't install as you don't have enough battery. First time these crap batteries have been a bonus!

And I mean CHRIST APPLE, if you know your servers are going to **** the bed on launch day (as every year), maybe you could update the Apple Store Terms and Conditions a week BEFORE the launch?
