Hooray to Apple for fixing stuff on iOS 11. 3 firmware updates in a bit more than 2 weeks seems excessive and it shows iOS 11 was not properly “baked”. We end up craving for the next update rather than actually enjoying the current firmware and that clearly shows how Apple seems to be lacking in software quality control department lately. Tim Cook said the iOS 11 release would be the one to remember....and he was right although not for the good reasons.

Why do people keep bringing up how many MB an update is? You do realize that a 100MB update does not mean that 104857600 characters in the source code were altered, right? If even one character of code is changed in a file that is 100MB when compiled, the entire 100MB file needs to be updated. In other words, very minor changes can result in very big downloads; and vice versa. You get this right?

For example, if I change one letter in a 5MB Word Document, you still need to download the entire document to get that one change.

Wish they could do binary updates, as in just download the change in code and apply it.

I actually like the way the wifi toggles in control center works now. Rarely do I ever need to disable wifi, but I often need to get off of a slow wifi network. This lets me get off the network I'm currently on, while still being able to connect automatically to networks that do work well when I want to with minimal clicking through menus.

Does it fix the problem with my 6 where the touchscreen becomes unresponsive because who the heck knows why?

Thats called touch disease and it's a design flaw. Lucky us bought the flawed design in the new model design. But apple is happy to replace it for $150 with the same flawed model which will get the same issue in a few months.

p.s.This is why I am leaning towards skipping release 1 of the iPhone X. Buggy first gen models...

looking at past releases, we'll have 11.1 in 1-2 weeks. i guess this is the last small update before that.

The article implies it will fix that issue.
It said 6s which have had their screens service. Mine is a 6, and it hasn't been serviced.

I don't have a plus, and the problem started literally the day after I installed the iOS 11 beta. It's a very intermittent problem. I can go a whole week without it, and then suddenly it's back for a few hours to a whole day.

How about battery life on my 6S Plus. Ever since ioS 11.0, I'm having to juice up by the time I get off work. Sometimes before if I have to use my phone more frequently.

I use to be able to last until 10pm bedtime with 20% left. I'm at that point by 5pm, when off the charger at 7am.

It effects both models as they both use tape instead of metal to protect the board. My guess either just bad timing with iOS 11 install. And the problem is intermittent because the contacts can re-connect depending on the day. Read the iFixit article...

I noticed a regression to pre iOS 10 yesterday when listening to Apple Music and opening the camera (direct to stills, not video) and it paused music. Seriously Apple, get it together or this is my last iPhone. Not worth the price these days for shoddy experience.
Do you have Live Photos turned on? I noticed that that happens only when Live Photos is enabled.

So I guess Apple's Patch Tuesday is a real thing now. It must have been moved to Wednesday this week because Monday was a holiday.

I’m tired of updating all of my devices every 7 days. Apple used to make things that “just work”. I will never again upgrade to a new operating system until it is on at least a .2 or .3 revision...

Microsoft started this trend with the Zune and their mobile OS, and they were raked over the coals by Apple fans. And now...?

What drives me nuts about it is the bad transition from huge left justified text to instant small center justified text. Thats just sloppy. If we must live with crazy huge text, it should transition like safari’s url box, smooth transition from big text to little.
