Its been 7 minutes. No way anyone would know. I had zero battery problems with 11.0.2 on my 8Plus and Air 2.
Idk, mine isn't bad but I am definitely more battery conscious with 8+ than with 6S+. Battery did shrink and processor didn't fully compensate. Also, iOS 11 clearly has some drain issues.

A plus phone should be like an iPad. We should easily get a day, on the go, in the sun with full brightness, using GPS. Not quite currently.

Android phones can cost as much or more and i promise you’ll be more frustrated. I have a Note in my pocket right now that I want to throw in the garbage.
Why?

You have not seen buggy until you’ve owned an Android. I have a Note 4. Don’t think because it’s 3 years old, I just started having these problems. Most of these started less than 1 year into ownership. I’m also not an Android n00b...also owner of a Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S7. The S7 already started lagging, having battery drain, and app crashing.

As for the Note...

1) THE worst battery life despite 3 clean installs and 3 new genuine Samsung batteries. I literally charge my phone three times per day and it’s generally in my pocket.

2) It was $949...more expensive than any iPhone until the X, and this was 3 years ago.

3) SD card just doesn’t work. Sometimes recognized, other times not. Other times says its corrupted...tried 6 different cards.

4) LAAAGGGGGGGG

5) “Unfrotunately *insert app name* has stopped - closes app. Constant.

6) Does not receive texts 15% of the time.

7) Does not get even close to current software updates. Currently runs marshmallow and will never receive Oreo or Nougat. Only got Marshmallow (2 iterations old) like 6 months ago. Pretty much on Lollipop (3 years old) the entire time I’ve owned it.

8) I see people flying around on their iPhone 6, switching between apps, texting, looking at fab and Instagram, and my phone cant even open the phone app without hanging up.

9) The Play store is GARBAGE. Almost every app is inferior to the iOS version.

10) Zero support from Samsung.

11) phone is constantly 120 degrees, even when locked.

12) the back cover is plastic.

13) TouchWiz

14) Heart rate monitor doesn’t work...stupid gimmick feature

15) Speaker is on the back and you can’t hear anything.

As an Apple diehard, I have to say that iOS 11 is a POS.

So many design choices that don’t make sense to me. To name a few:
- swipe from the top on lock screen to get notifications, but then the whole screen moves in the opposite direction of your swipe and notifications then awkwardly appear. A small bar also appears at the top which cuts off the top of the time
- auto brightness buried under accessibility
- massive headings in setting, photos, notes, messages, mail etc.
- And my biggest issue - wifi and Bluetooth not turning off fully in control centre!! Where would I ever find myself in a situation where I want to disconnect from my home wifi but then keep an eye out / try to connect to random unsecured public networks? ‘F***ing idiotic’ doesn’t even begin to describe it.
- battery life is taking an absolute hammering. My 6S is dead by 2pm most days, whereas I could easily get to 10pm before with no issues.
Really wish I could downgrade to iOS 10.

Uhh. So you expect double the battery life of what Apple claims? I don’t think so. I get 8-10 hours of usage a day. Exactly what Apple claims. I am more than happy with that.

Wow, I never knew that about the lock screen - it is stupid, isn't it?

Same about auto brightness...why on EARTH would that NOT be under Display & Brightness? Accessibility? Seriously?

And this is all from the vaunted and revered Apple UI/UX design team, the best and the brightest?

Can someone tell me if this runs smoothly and good battery on a 6s. I'm still on iOS 9.3.5 and wondering if I should update now.

Hi
Yes. Running smoothly on my iPhone 6s.
Better battery life also.

I’m having some serious issues with my calendar app after this upgrade. My calendar uses iCloud and Exchange, and whenever I try to open a calendar event the app just freezes up and becomes unresponsive. I didn’t have this problem on 11.0, 11.01 or 11.02. iPhone 7 128GB.

Anyone else?

I’m seriously jealous. I think iOS 9.3.5 was my last favorite version of iOS, both functionally and graphically. Too bad I cannot restore it anymore because Apple has stopped digitally signing it :(

"Addresses an issue where touch input was unresponsive on some iPhone 6s displays because they were not serviced with genuine Apple parts"

Well that's a load of BS, the only repair by iPhone 6s has was a battery replacement at the Apple Store, unless they used non genuine Apple parts !

Is this a security hole that's unique on 11.0.3 or have existed all the way back?

Just installed 11.0.3 whilst in the car (after wifi download at home). My iPhone7 booted up and connected normally via CarPlay with graphics on the car unit screen. Then I was able to access CarPlay functionalities, including phone calls, all without entering the login security code on the iPhone.

This can't be right!

Check your carplay settings - there’s an option that allows Carplay access without unlocking the device. Sounds like it’s somehow gotten turned on, perhaps it’s the new default.

I wish they'd remove the huge hideous app headlines (i.e. "Messages" in Messages and "All Inboxes" in Mail), as well as revert the control center Wifi toggle back to how it used to function
I agree on the hideous app headlines, they are really vile. I disagree on the control centre wifi toggle: I much prefer iOS 11 behaviour in this regards, and I consider it a decisive step ahead.

Too much space wasted on the title.
I have an 8+ so I have plenty of space, but on a 4.7'' phone you miss too much content due to the bigger toolbar.
I'm afraid the toolbar is here to stay, at least until iOS 12

I wish I could get:

- the 3D touch app switcher back on my 6S
- no massive labels on messages and email
- the ability to shut off wifi and bluetooth in control centre toggles (this makes me crazy the way it works now)

3D touch switcher is coming back in 11.1, I guess they'll release it by the end of the month just in time for X launch

That was the case but they started signing 10.3.3 just for the 6s later that day or the next day.

Its not sluggishness that they are referring to. There was an issue whereby the device would not function at all from home screen after installing iOS 11 on a 6s that had has a 3rd party display repair. You can google it and see more about this. That's most likely why they started signing 10.3.3 again for the 6s until they could resolve it.

Thank you for the information

Let's hope not; I use the new functionality several times each day.

Why do people keep bringing up how many MB an update is? You do realize that a 100MB update does not mean that 104857600 characters in the source code were altered, right? If even one character of code is changed in a file that is 100MB when compiled, the entire 100MB file needs to be updated. In other words, very minor changes can result in very big downloads; and vice versa. You get this right?

For example, if I change one letter in a 5MB Word Document, you still need to download the entire document to get that one change.

Software development isn’t always akin to Word documents. All of iOS doesn’t exist in a single executable. There are support files, libraries and other executables. Depending on where the change was made and how modular the operating system is, the update file could be smaller or larger.

iPhone 6 Update: loading circle showed up for several seconds after every action. Restart fixed it.

Some minutes ago my phone performed a complete restart. It asked for Passcode+ Sim-Pin (it is charging.).

can anyone tell me if they fixed the issue with the extra animation of the icons bouncing back when using reachability?
I mean why oh why am I supposed to wait for the icons to bounce back before opening Camera for example?
It somewhat eliminates the purpose of reachability (saving time)...

I own a 6 plus so I don’t think the update did anything for me. And maybe I’m missing something but I though pulling down notifications when in reachabilty would be fixed and it’s still the same?

In general the behavior with the notifications and widgets and lock screen and unlocked screen, and how to clear the notifications from current day and prior day, and how they are stacked.... all seems really wonky and broken. I don't like it at all.

Not to mention going back to one column of widgets for the iPads instead of the two columns from iOS 10. That was so much more user friendly, we definitely don't want that.

Looking forward to them to continue to update,, has seemed buggy has heck on my 6S+ ... think it's kinda funny they call out unresponsiveness on 6S as due to non genuine parts... mine has never been touched and was bought new and has those issues :)

I am in the same boat. All original 6s+ buggy and unresponsive at times requiring daily reboots. Unfortunately, 11.3 hasn't fixed my issues. Maybe next weeks patch.
