people might not care about this but it grinds my gears that they skipped versions

they have NEVER done this

Does it actually matter? Or does it bother you because it's just confusing and not the way how software updates usually are presented?

(Curious question)

Edit:
Meanwhile in Android land, those consumers will be waiting another 6 months to get an update through their carrier.

Meanwhile, in Android Land, those consumers who care about updates, like me, buy a nexus or pixel device and enjoy updates instantly (not from carrier) that actually makes the phone faster and better ;)
Those who don't, don't.

Meanwhile, in ios Land, consumers are nearly AFRAID of updating their device.

Sorry, im a huge apple fan and have everything apple, but since I made the switch two month ago (nexus 5x), im realising the advantages from android the first time and couldn't be happier.
This phone is 3 years old, akku still holds a day, I still get the newest system (oreo 8.1.)
AND....it is unthrottled.

So, as much I love apple, don't spread false information about android....it's not just one manufacturer and it's pleasant to use. Swipe gestures on the x? I found out that is possible since years in android land.

Edit: Don't want to glorify android, my family is still iPhone and loves it...I'm just so surprised that android gets better and better while ios gets worse and worse :(

Interesting to see these posts in that order.

Yeah gotta be there to disprove anything that would possibly damn Apple in anyway.

Geekbench scores don’t necessarily translate to improvement in performance. My iPhone benchmarks lower than iOS 10 anyway, and my supposed top of the line iPad can’t go 2 minutes without jitter in springboard, the same with the other 100 or more iPads i’ve used on iOS 11.

Apple is corrupt =/= Apple is doomed.
Sarcasm, given that neither fit with this update.

Interesting how I didn't even say anything and just simply pointed out what others have posted, and how that gets twisted into something else. Certainly speaks quite a bit for itself.

Someone in another forum noted that battery levels were probably different for my two tests. This is true. I drained my battery, ran the test again and was back down to my original (low) scores. Charged my phone to 100% and score went way back up. Oh well...

Oh yeah play word games. You posted that for a specific purpose. There is no way of twisting it any other way. It’s your form of ‘policing’ anything negative.

And I'm the one being accused of playing "word games".

After installing this update, the screen on my iPhone X died, the iPhone was still on, but the screen was dead. Called Apple and they did everything on their end to try and revive the screen, but no luck.

On my iPhone 6s resting finger on Home button after unlock no longer opens wallet/ Apple Pay like it did before upgrade. Can’t find any setting to get this back. Any ideas?
