Maybe because this conflicts with the new X swipe up for app switching?

I think it's because the X has the "swipe sideways on the bottom of the screen to switch." But they should leave the edge swipe for the rest of us.... I use it.

My wife mainly uses that now (if you looked in my sig to see that I have one) so I haven't upgraded it yet. If I had to guess, it's probably not bad but probably not good. I actually used it the other day because my wife had a small iCloud issue we were trying to sort out and was a bit bugged by the laginess in some areas, even in iOS 10, compared to my new 10.5". ProMotion has ruined me.

You guys with iPad Air 2 and newer are going to love this update. Been running it all summer on my 10.5" Pro and can't imagine going back. Sure, there are many things left to improve, but this is a big step in the right direction and I haven't been this excited about the direction of the iPad since I bought the original in April 2010. Now if only Affinity Designer would launch!

Affinity photo/designer + Files/ios11 would mean I'm quite literally on my way to bringing just my iPad to the office - and not necessarily needing to touch my workstation

To pe perfectly honest, I'm finding my way into this iOS workflow better and better each day, and I think I'm more excited by it all than I was in 2015 imagining that the iPad Pro would be a macOS tablet.. All the issues/ shortcomings surrounding the Surface Pros make me happy I didn't abandon ship.. I've never seen Affinity-software speeds in any other platform or OS on any machine ever.

Been running the GM since last Thursday. So far, so good on my 7 Plus and iPad Pro 10.5.

The only thing I kind of depsise is the large font in the headers of all native apps now.

SETTINGS
And so on.

I could tolerate it when it was just in the Music app, but now that's it everywhere, seems really kind of cheesy looking and a waste of screen real estate, especially on the phone.

iPhone 7plus just updated. Phone has very slight lag but seems to be a lot going on in the background. Apps updating, and it says my photo album is bing analyzed. I'll see how it is in a day.

Just finished installing on my 6s. Seems fine so far - a bit stuttery, but that's normal, given it needs to index, etc.

I'm now installing it on my iPad Mini 4. Will report back.

App store is really nice. At first I couldn't find a way to download my existing purchased apps. But then I found it and you will too. You just need to play around with it for a bit and then you will stubble across it.

After installing, it needs to re-index things. That takes time, and then the speediness will return. Patience, grasshopper.

Ok, thanks. I "thought" Ipad Air 2 came out at the same time as mini 2 but maybe Im off on that. Thats why I thought it may be good. I know the ios 10 series were supposed to be god awful.
