OK, serious question: the bluetooth icon in top bar - it used to be shown in a lighter colour when there was no device actively using bluetooth whilt BT was enabled.

Is that color difference gone in iOS11 and it is always in black/white (depending on the background) and no greyed-out icon anymore? In other words, no way to tell if any device is connected?

Yeah, really sad, I loved it too. They took it away on the first few betas if I'm not mistaken. Not a deal breaker tho.

Definitely not noticing any lags or bugs/problems in general, maybe it's an issue with older devices.

Unfortunately this appears to be just a rumor... It was talked about a long time ago but nothing so far. It would have been the biggest feature of the update for me if it existed, lol.

It would, if it wasn't an original part, depending on the part... Which doesn't seem to be the case. Try DFU and good luck.

Fixed. Looks like iOS 11 doesn’t like to be upgraded through the dongle. I wonder if any other users with new MBP’s have this issue too.

Anyone who uses their iPhone for IT/Network purposes might want to think twice about upgrading to iOS 11.

I have not updated, yet, but today when I started my Fing app to scan our office network, it alerted me that iOS 11 has now blocked apps from detecting/using MAC addresses, which Fing uses to identify the manufacturers of detected devices. Without MAC address, it can only rely on IP addresses which are NOT unique so it makes it hard to keep track of devices.

So any networking app that scans networks, etc., will not be able to detect or keep track of devices by MAC address.

This is bad. Now I have another reason to need to use Android.

Why would Apple block MAC address detection in iOS 11?

This is a problem for me... I used to use two different Apple IDs. One for general settings, and a separate one for FaceTime/iMessage. You used to be able to log in to those services separately with no issues. Now FaceTime/iMessage forces you to use the same ID as inputted in the iTunes section of the phone.

Anyone know how to sign into iMessage using an ID different from iCloud on iOS11?

I'm very frustrated that we are sitting here years later after Tim told us they "are working on it", but we still don't have the opportunity to combine two IDs into one.

Is it worth trying to download yet? I usually wait until about 4+ hours before I try because it either fails or is painfully slow since I assume too many people are trying to download at once. What are other people's experiences?

On my Macbook am getting a notification to sign into iCloud as part of the new two-factor authentication but after doing so, the alert isnt going away. Anyone else having this issue?

Just finished installing on my 6s. Seems fine so far - a bit stuttery, but that's normal, given it needs to index, etc.

I'm now installing it on my iPad Mini 4. Will report back.
iPad mini update: so far, loving it! I love the new dock and multitasking! Will have to play with it more though, haha... but performance so far doesn't look too bad on the Mini 4! Let's see.

After all the 11 iOS versions, still no separate volume level for clock alarms possible.
Am I the only one missing it?!

Admittedly, I have not read all 292 comments in this discussion, but a quick glance shows that many here have already updated and/or are in the process of downloading.

I myself downloaded three IPSW packages for installation tonight when I get home from work. I think it took a total of 28 minutes for the three downloads (I started around 10:30 am PDT).

I believe Apple uses some sort of load-balancing software and distribution centers to help manage downloads and periods of peak downloading activity. I do not know the performance of the servers closest to you and the experiences of others may not match yours.

Build number 15A372.
I am having an issue with sending picture through camera roll as a message. Only gives me email option. Any one else have this issue?

I have the same issue. even in the photo.app there is no option to share via message... So weird...

Well, just updated my iPad Pro 9.7 . . all my Safari bookmarks are now gone from my iPad, iPhone (still on 10) and Mac Pro. Was able to restore from Time Machine for my Mac Pro, but can't get to sync over to the iPad and iPhone.
