What videos app? And how do you re-download from the App Store?

It’s apple’s own videos app. It used to be included in older versions of ios, but got replaced in ios 11 by the tv app.

Yet it is still available from the app store. Just search for “Videos” in the app store and you should see apple’s videos app at the top, or near the top of the search results.

Apple today officially released iOS 11, the newest operating system designed for the iPad, iPhone, and iPad touch. iOS 11 is available on the iPhone 5s and later, the iPad mini 2 and later, the iPad Air and later, and the 6th-generation iPod touch.

The update is available on all eligible devices over-the-air in the Settings app. To access the update, go to Settings --> General --> Software Update. It could potentially take a few minutes for the update to propagate to all users due to high demand.

iOS 11 is a major update that brings a refreshed look and feel to both the iPhone and the iPad. It introduces subtle design changes to interface elements throughout the OS, like bolder text, a new look for apps, revamped icons, and a redesigned usage experience for the Lock screen and the Control Center.

Apple has merged the Lock screen and the Notification Center, so a downwards swipe now brings up the Lock screen and notifications. The Control Center is now customizable and does more, and 3D Touch integration has been expanded.

Siri is smarter than ever and has a new, more natural voice, and Siri is now cross-device, letting the personal assistant learn more about you. Siri can also translate English into several different languages like Spanish and Chinese.

iOS 11 feels a lot different on an iPad. There's now a persistent Dock at the bottom of the display that you can bring up anytime with a swipe, and there's a new App Switcher that's similar to Mission Control on the Mac, letting you see all of your apps -- even those in split-view windows -- at a glance. Apple Pencil does more on iPad Pro, and a new Drag and Drop feature lets you drag links, images, files, and more from one app to another.

A new Files app introduces improved file management, and many apps have new features. Notes offers searchable handwriting and document scanning, Maps has lane guidance and speed limit info, Apple Music lets you see what your friends are listening to, and there are a new tools for editing Live Photos.

HomeKit now supports speakers and AirPlay 2 adds multi-room functionality, while Do Not Disturb has been expanded to encompass driving. In a future update, Apple plans to add iCloud Messages and a person-to-person Apple Pay feature.

On the iPad, there's a handy new "Flick" keyboard, while the iPhone has new one-handed keyboard options. You'll see a completely different App Store after installing iOS 11, and a whole host of apps with new capabilities thanks to ARKit and other under-the-hood improvements.

Note: When iOS 11 is installed, all older 32-bit apps will no longer launch. These are apps that have not been updated for several years, and Apple has discontinued support. Only 64-bit apps are compatible with the new update.

[doublepost=1505948809][/doublepost]So far IOS 11 is a mess. First thing it staring sucking power out of my battery as fast as it could. Apple needs to fix this. They I have 17 voice mails. Instead of being able to see them and read the translation of them or call back I have to call to get them. This is horrible. These are the first things I attempted after downloading IOS 11. I would not recommend anyone installing this upgrade until IOS 11 id fixed. looks like an alpha release with multiple bugs.

Silly question but how come the Settings.app appears twice..once on the home screen itself and again on the dock just wondering just seems kind of strange..everything seems fine the only thing I notice is that when I want to make folders for my apps(By pressing on the app and dragging them into a new folder) it takes a sec for it to happen..I have the iPad Pro 10.5 inch otherwise everything is fine

Just one more data point. iPhone 6s, no heat from the phone during install, has used only 1% battery power in the last hour. Haven't noticed any real lag but going to wait to make a final decision on snappiness.

So I can listen to music while watching a video/porn lololll on safari just mute the video and play music

It seems like 50% reduction by default, see this comparison at max brightness on both:

It seems Apple took the easy way out, and ‘solved’ battery issues in iOS11 by capping brightness.
You nailed it. This is pretty bad, way too noticeable.

This amazes me. My 6S has NO difference in brightness, in fact i have to keep it at ~50% or it's too bright. Those pictures look like they were taken when the phone was in night mode with the brightness turned down even more than usual.

Smooth as a butter on iPad Pro 10”
Laggy animations on iPhone 7+

Hope it will get better with upcoming updates.

Drains my battery on my iPhone 6s. It has completely made my iPad unusable. It shuts down at random - I get the Apple screen and have to use my passcode. Major headache.

I went ahead and put iOS 11 on my 7 Plus last night. My iPhone didn't get hot afterwards. Indexing must have been very quick. Battery use seems about the same for my normal use. AppleTV Remote app was a big drain before, and seems to run better now (updated app too).

Lag must be a subjective thing. I haven't noticed any noticeable difference in 'lag' for animations or switching / launching apps compared with the previous OS 10.3.3. About the only thing I've not liked so far is the App Store. Not too happy about the design change, and of course even less happy with the App Store removal from iTunes.

Overall, I see room for improvements, but it's a good start.

You have problems that go way beyond iOS 11. You might go to the Apple store and have them take a look.

I don't believe you. I ask Siri what the weather is all the time, and get the correct answer. Where are you located?
Phoenix, Arizona USA. I want her to tell me. If its going to be displayed on screen, I'd just use the weather app. If I'm not mistaken that stupid Rock feature with Siri, she tells him the weather. Mine has never done that on any iPhone I've had.

So, clueless comment huh. You obviously haven't really seen an alpha release ever. . ... Many tens of thousands of people (possibly a million when including public betas) have tested this thing for months.

If you toggle the wifi switch off via control center than your wifi connection will be lost but your phone's wifi antenna still be active. that's the problem.

It's only a problem if it actually uses a substantial amount of power compared to the alternate.
If it does not, then it isn't much a problem.
I only use the toggle to force a LTE connection when the WIFI net is crap. If it does that, which seems it does, well it does what it is suppose to be doing for me.

Anyone installed iOS 11 on an iPhone 6 - how is it going?

I swear that my iPhone 6 is getting slower just recently.

EDIT, actually its just some of the time its going slower, what makes an iPhone go slower occasionally? Camera app/ keyboards

IF you didn't upgrade anything and it gets slower then options are this:

1) If the phone is near full say 80-100% range, it gets slower.
2) Something is eating your processing power in the background. Check settings.

battery drainage is all over the place :(
i actually saw it go down from 90 to 87 in 10 seconds and then stops.
never saw this before.

The GM was leaked for a few hours last week, then it came out after the event. The release on the 19th is the same as both of those.

APFS came out with iOS 10.3. So not new to iOS 11.

For item 3 all you have to do is click anywhere off a tab for the home screen. Button not required.
[doublepost=1505882936][/doublepost]Seems I remember in the past that Siri voices wouldn’t update to the hi quality until the device is locked, plugged in, and on Wi-Fi. Maybe similar issue here? I have the new voice btw on both iPhone and iPad but been on betas since the beginning.

I think 11.1 will bring back multi tasking from what HairForce1 mentioned. But overall, I feel its a great improvement for iPad rather than iPhone. Two main points for me to install IOS11- bringing 3D touch back and P2P apple pay.

If your settings app is on the dock AND the homepage, it’s probably because you’re using an iPad and the settings app is on the right side of the dock, an area showing most recently used apps.

From within any app, you can short swipe up from the bottom to show just the dock (on top of the current app) and get quickly back to any recently used apps. Nice feature IMO.

Yeah I have the iPad Pro 10.5 inch so on the homepage itself I see the settings app and also on the dock I see the settings app I just thought it was strange..as long as its normal than I know its OK..how do I go about adding additional apps to the dock..the only lag I see is when I hold down the app to move it to its own folder it sometimes takes an extra second than moves fine

The reason for the extra second or so when pressing and holding an icon on the home page is also a feature

When u press and hold an icon on the home page, there are now two stages

First the icon gets slightly bigger, at which point you can drag the icon to the dock, anywhere on the home screen, or any page of the home screen. This happens without going into full “wiggle mode”, so u don’t need another home button click to get out of wiggle mode

Second pressing and holding a bit longer takes u to full wiggle mode, where you can drag and rearrange multiple icons (one after another) without press holding each one. You can also drag items from the home screen onto the dock or vice verse

If the dock had already reached its max number of icons when u attempt to drag one in, it will give a little bounce as an indicator.

Thank U so much now that makes total sense at least I know its not the iPad itself(Been crazy obsessed since I had to exchange the other one due to a really bad eye strain) if I drag an icon to the dock will it still remain on the home screen?
As far as downloading apps(Since the new app store its kind of weird gonna take some time to get used to it) the apps will NOT install if they are 32bit I assume?

1) if u drag an icon to the dock and the dock accepts it, the icon will not remain on the home screen
2) 32 bit apps will not install, no worries.
3) you’re welcome :)
