It looks like the Apple TV remote was not updated. Even in the App Store the previous version is list as current.

Anyone else? Just updated and all my Apple Pay credit cards are missing from the Wallet and also my Apple Pay Cash card. When I try to add a card back in I get a message that I have already put in the maximum of 12 cards. I only had 3 and now have none.

I have this problem. iPhone SE.

Says Apple Pay requires an update. which, according to Apple’s support page, means my iPhone now requires a repair, that I have to send it into Apple.

When I try to add my cards, it says I already have the max of 8.

Looks like my Apple Watch might still work with Apple Pay, though.

Thanks, Tim!

Anyone else see safari not working right? I start typing a web address, click on the suggestion and it goes to a blank page.

Apple today released iOS 12.2, the second major update to the iOS 12 operating system that first launched in September 2018. iOS 12.2 comes more than a month after the release of iOS 12.1.4, the last iOS 12 update, and just after Apple's March 25 event that saw the unveiling of new subscription services.

The update is available on all eligible devices over-the-air in the Settings app. To access the update, go to Settings > General > Software Update. As with all iOS updates, iOS 12.2 is free to download. It may take some time for iOS 12.2 to propagate to all iOS users.

iOS 12.2 is a significant update to iOS and adds a multitude of new features. First and foremost, the iOS 12.2 update introduces support for the new Apple News+ subscription service, allowing Apple News subscribers unlimited access to news and magazines for a monthly fee.

For Canadians, iOS 12.2 brings Apple News to Canada for the first time, expanding it beyond the United States, the UK, and Australia. Canadians can access news in either French or English.

There are four new Animoji in iOS 12.2, including a boar, a shark, a giraffe, and an owl. The new Animoji are available in the Messages and FaceTime apps.

iOS 12.2 lays the groundwork for AirPlay 2 and HomeKit support on third-party TVs from companies like LG, Sony, and Samsung, with these features set to be implemented later this year. These changes include updates to the Home app to add TV access, and a redesigned TV remote in Control Center that takes up the full iPhone screen and has a darker color. Apple has also introduced a new option for "Allow TV Access" to control who can access and send content to your TV.

When paired with tvOS 12.2, iOS 12.2 brings a new feature that lets you ask Siri to play specific TV shows, movies, and music on devices like third-party TV sets and the Apple TV.

For AT&T users, iOS 12.2 introduces a new "5G E" icon for the cellular signal, replacing the standard LTE icon. This is misleading branding from AT&T because the iPhone does not support 5G, nor is the network AT&T calls 5G E actual 5G. Instead, it's an upgraded version of LTE, with more info available here.

Apple has streamlined the interface of the Wallet app ahead of upcoming support for an Apple credit card made available through a partnership with Goldman Sachs. The Apple credit card could have unique Wallet features like rewards tracking, access to balance management tools, notifications about spending habits, and options to set spending limits.

There are dozens of smaller changes and tweaks in iOS 12. The Downtime feature can be customized by day, the Apple News, AirPlay, and Control Center Remote icons have been designed, and audio messages in the Messages app are now higher quality thanks to a new codec.

In iOS 12.2, audio messages use an updated Opus codec for higher quality audio
With Apple Pay Cash, there's a new "Add Money" option in Wallet that makes it easier to add funds, and in Safari, there are now search arrows for getting targeted search results more quickly when conducting a Google search. All websites that do not use a secure HTTPS connection are listed as "Not Secure" in the Safari menu bar, and there is a new Air Quality setting in Apple Maps.

Safari privacy is improving in iOS 12.2 with a new Motion & Orientation toggle located under Settings > Safari > Privacy & Security. Turning this on will let websites display content that relies on motion data from the accelerometer and gyroscope. Improvements have also been made to the Intelligent Tracking Prevention feature and support for the outdated opt-in Do Not Track option has been eliminated.

Apple has updated the "About" screen in the Settings app to more logically display relevant information, and Siri is now able to suggest Today at Apple sessions based on Safari and app usage if you have the Apple Store app installed. You'll also be able to see warranty information right on your device in the Settings app.

In a recent episode of Vergecast, The Verge's Nilay Patel said that iOS 12.2 will bring iPad Pro support to the Logitech Crayon, an alternative to the Apple Pencil and Apple Pencil 2. Following the update, the Logitech Crayon will be compatible with iPad Pro models.

Apple's full release notes for the iOS 12.2 update are listed below, with all new features and included bug fixes:iOS 12.2 could be one of the last significant updates that we see to the iOS 12 operating system as Apple's focus will shift to iOS 13 after the Worldwide Developers Conference, which is set to take place on June 3.

And guess what: The iPhone XS still stutters like on day1. But Apple deleted the 40page-Apple-Support-Forum Thread with 1.500+ affected users and their complaints. Great Job, Tim!

This update also includes other improvements and bug fixes. This update:
Displays a "5G E" icon for iPhone 8 and later

I think we need a third category in addition "other improvements" and "bug fixes". I'll hold my tongue on what I would call it.

How about "other changes". ;)

For me, as long as the phone still works they can put a clown icon up for all I care. Let AT&T play their game.

The news app reminds me of Hollywood product - the technology is amazing, never been better, but the content is (poop emoji deleted).

Now I can access every Vox, HuffPo, New Yorker, Vanity Fair, NY Times, etc., article that says Trump equals Hitler. I don't need a hundred different sources that say exactly the same thing. There's no diversity in thought, ergo, there's no reason for me to subscribe to News+.

Went from 477GB available to 476GB on a 2.1.4 iPad 10.5 Pro. Not bad, but that's a long way from 512GB. It gets smaller each update. 3.01GB download.

Mail still comes up "Updated Just Now" under the list of messages in the Inbox when in fact it has been days since it was opened/updated. I thought one of their bullet points this morning was 'attention to detail'?

Safari DOES seem snappier.

Not downloading. Call me paranoid but I never download day 1 software updates. Too many bugs

OK, you're paranoid. ;)

I know how you feel but I haven't had any problems doing updates in the last few years. I just did my X and iPad mini 4 with no issues.

I kinda wish the mods would crack down on the endless “MOAR EMOJIS!!” “XXGB UPDATE FOR JUST EMOJI’S”. We get it, you don’t like them. Move on.

I’m excited for the News+ app. I’m glad they give a free month to try as I will gladly take them up on that. Some of the magazines offered already charge $10 a month so if you have multiple, it’s a steal.

Well you can't get the NY Times (cover to cover) on News+. LA Times, yes.

What news sources would you like to see included? I don't remember seeing any articles comparing the president to AH.

Nope. We’d better wait up on this update for now.

Anyone else having this problem? wanna know about this and ECG outside the US before I update.
Same here....going to wait to see if the ECG feature still works.

Have to see how the new wallet is, I like being able to just tap the one I want and make it the "one" for the next transaction.

This is a bit of a nudge to maybe I should wait for the next update first.

Well hooptyuber has a point, regardless of your political leaning. So much online content is syndicated and cross-referenced, there is very little content that is actually written objectively by real journalists, rather than thinly veiled opinion pieces masquerading as journalism.

A slight tangent, but I think Apple's latest efforts at a subscription service will apply yet more downward price pressure on news outlets, with the result being more job losses and more content sharing.

Definitely waiting on this one. Someone else posted earlier that they lost all their credit/debit cards and Apple Pay Cash card and cannot re-add them because iOS says they added the max of 12 cards, while only having three cards total.

I depend too much on Apple Pay to be losing my entire wallet. My question is if I update one of my iPads or my backup iPhones will it mess with my Wallet on my main non-updated iPhone XS? From what I recall Wallet is stored in the Secure Enclave and will not update all devices if you make a change, but not 100% sure so, um...no thank you.

I'll wait for iOS 12.2.1 later in the week.

If Apple does a dark mode for iOS, I guarantee you it won't happen in a point release. Maybe (Hopefully) iOS 13?

I believe dark mode is pretty much confirmed for IOS 13 although I recently read it might be delayed until a 13.something release. With the move to OLED, dark mode seems obvious at this point. I hope.

Realistically speaking, oddities like that happen to some devices out there--with millions upon millions of them in use--with pretty much any update (and sometimes even without updates).
