The update "addresses an issue" that could cause calls using Wi-Fi calling to drop. Note that Apple doesn't say it "fixes an issue" -- language used for other bug fixes. I assume that it doesn't completely fix this bug, which I've experienced.

And 4.1 went to 4.2 (actually 4.2.1 to consumers), and 8.2 went to 8.3.

It may be due to the fact that wifi calls could still drop due to other circumstances like poor network conditions. So “addresses an issue” was used instead of “fixes an issue” because they can never fully prevent the issue from occurring as it’s connected to networks that are outside of Apple’s control. Just a thought, I have no real knowledge as to why the verbiage is different, just proposing a different possible reason.

That’s disappointing. iOS 12.2 to 12.3 is a MAJOR update and should add some new features whatsoever, even those stupid Animoji’s would be nice or ANYTHING really. It shows how much subscription services are important for Apple these days...

There's probably a ton of bug fixes under the hood; AppleTV stuff isn't the only thing in this release.

Software update wasn't showing; Forced quit the settings app, checked for software update again, displayed after an error message. FYI if you're trying to get it installed ASAP.

I'd be interested to know at what bitrate Apple streams HBO content. As all GoT fans know, HBOGo/Now is pretty low quality streaming. Amazon's HBO streaming is a better bitrate than HBOGo/Now, but only a little bit better, so I'd be curious to see how Apple's offering compares.

Hmm. iTunes 12.6.5.3 does nothing when I tell it to check for an update for my 12.2 10.5" iPad. It doesn't even say none is available. The iPad (on WiFi) knows that 12.3 is available. Is this the end of the line for the old iTunes?

It says 12.2 is the current version for my iPhone SE, so I guess it is still alive. The phone itself thinks there is an update.

Weird.

Does this mean Samsung smart TVs will be getting an update pretty soon to?

Apple is just using vendor market-speak. "Issue" in these contexts generally means "problem" or "vulnerability" -- but "issue" sounds less 'bad' when they refer to it in product release notes. Nearly all tech vendors do that wordsmithing, but Apple is especially loathe to *ever* admit there's a 'problem' with their products .... it's always an "issue". And i agree, one can always 'address' an issue but not necessarily 'fix' it.

Weren’t some places saying that Channels would be a flat $9.99 a month each? I guess that didn’t pan out. I’m seeing the standard prices, which are different for each service.

I just want them to enable iMessage across multiple lines when using dual sim. Even if I have to be connected to WiFi that’s fine just make it work!
