Could be the luck of battery lottery.Hmm don’t know what’s going on with mine then.
liking fact some apps are already updated for dark mode
Which ones? Only ones I notice are MS OneDrive, Google News, and Outlook.
My SE phone updated OK but my ipod 7 wouldn't. This is weird because the ipod 7 is much newer than the SE phone. Maybe I'll get the ipsw for the ipod 7 but I shouldn't have to. It should just update OTA just like the SE phone did.
EDIT. Actually I have worked out why my ipod 7 won't update. There is no update for the ipod 7. The original story is wrong. It is only for iphones, not ipod 7s. There actually is no ipsw either.
Here's proof. This is the full list of ipsw's from the developer site. As you can see they are ONLY for iphones, not ipods.

I also have a theory why ios13 was released only for iphones today. Because the new watch 5 which comes with watchos 6 - only works with iphones on ios 13. And since most of the preordered watch 5's should be delivered now, all the compatible iphones have to be updated to ios 13 so they can work with watch 5.
ipods are actually irrelevant to the watch 5/ios 13 issue - hence no update for ipod 7.
This ios update strangely has a lot more to do with the watch 5 than iphones. And if you have a compatible iphone you would have got the update - even if you don't have a watch 5!
FYI: The info was updated in the original article. Here is further proof that the original macrumors story is wrong about it being available for ipod 7.
Near the bottom of the page at https://www.apple.com/ios/ios-13/ it says the update will be available for ipod 7 on September 24, 2019.

But that will probably come as 13.1, not 13.
Yes, I saw that yesterday.Anyone in the UK notice they had access to Apple News + yesterday, but no longer available today?
I was waiting to sign up until next weeks iPad OS launch but the options not there anymore, back to the spotlight tab.
FYI: The info was updated in the original article.
Perhaps because I pressed report both under tywebb13’s post and the main article. I guess reporting results in faster changes then a post alone.

It’s interesting how something that is easily simply a mistake or an oversight can suddenly be something nefarious like “fake news” essentially just because.Sounds like they are trying to cover up their fake news about a non-existent update for ipod 7.
Well this is old news now and most people with ipod 7's who were interested in this have already read this thread - already noticed that it was fake news - and so there is not much point in covering it up now is there? They should just be more honest and just say something like
"Hey guys - sorry - we got it wrong before. There is no update for ipod 7. But there probably will be on September 24".
That would be a much nicer way to deal with it.
The new iOS13 feels slow and slugish on an iPhone 7 Plus. It should be the opposite, right?
