Hopefully this fixes the problem for my mom. She has full bars of 5G signal on Verizon, but her iPhone 13 would constantly toggle between LTE and 5G resulting in dropped calls. For now, switched her phone to LTE only and that solved the problem.

The iOS 15.1.1 update can be downloaded for free and the software is available on all eligible devices over-the-air in the Settings app. To access the new software, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
According to Apple's release notes, iOS 15.1.1 improves call drop performance on iPhone 12 and 13 models, so users who have been experiencing dropped calls should see improvements after installing the update. It appears to only be available for devices in the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 families, including Pro models, so users with other devices won't see the update.

I'm getting that issue both with and without my Airpods (3). I have the iPhone 13, and constantly am being told by people that they can't hear or understand me. I never had that issue before I got the 13 (Pro Max, 1 TB). Last night I was on the phone and they said it was terrible trying to have a conversation on there with me.I hope this fixes the constant “sorry I can’t hear you very well” issues when making a call on my AirPods.
I have this issue too on my iPhone 11 Pro. Might not be related to this bug then?I have had so many critical calls ring for half a second , then go directly to voicemail.
I hope this fixes that.
I even put specific contacts on emergency override with a special ringtone. But something about the phone or iOS is still sending them directly to voicemail after half a ring
