No problems with the update, battery & battery health is fine. Noticed a slighter bigger drain overnight w/ phone off charger...BUT I personally had Apple News running in the background every single minute for whatever reason, another rogue app. I deleted it since I rarely use it.

Phone signal strength, I don't know..we'll see. 1-2 bars still on Verizon so jury is still out on that. (I've never bene thrilled with the service in this home) I'll see how it acts outside the house.

3 bars TMob here too 5G here has just been a fail after fail. LTE only has been best. Trying 5G after update iPhone 12.
OK wifi off and 5G locked on is working pretty good so far.

I’ve got 3 bars TMob wifi off and 5G now seems functional. It never did before - I just fell back on LTE. Going about my day later in DC and we’ll see about bar strength and functionality throughout the day.

I will be closely looking at battery life around dt DC today - but 5G finally seems usable and relatively fast as compared to our laggy home wifi - exciting. IPhone 12 TMob

Apple today released iOS 15.1.1, a minor update that comes almost a month after the launch of iOS 15.1.

The iOS 15.1.1 update can be downloaded for free and the software is available on all eligible devices over-the-air in the Settings app. To access the new software, go to Settings > General > Software Update.

According to Apple's release notes, iOS 15.1.1 improves call drop performance on iPhone 12 and 13 models, so users who have been experiencing dropped calls should see improvements after installing the update. It appears to only be available for devices in the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 families, including Pro models, so users with other devices won't see the update.

Just updated iPhone 12 TMob, switched off wifi, locked on 5G and going well, pretty speedy. But my phone is noticeably warmer - i just noticed this. Will my brain be frying or my btooth buds go all toaster?
This is the first time I have noticed the heat on back against my palm.
I’ll try auto 5G and maybe things will run cooler.

I think the stereotype of young, middle class “girls” chatting on the phone all day, in the 1980’s, was supposed to highlight the excessive waste of the network allocation. [The networks] were racking up $200 in monthly telephone bills at a loss so that two “girls”, who are neighbors, can gossip late at night about nothing.

They mitigated this issue with AOL Instant Messenger, which drastically reduced the bandwidth by using text messages.

It was later incorporated into cell phones (SMS, MMS).

And now people want to bring back hours and hours of telephone calls with high fidelity audio.

Gee, I wonder how old they were in 1986?
I see this guy is suspended, but I just had to point out what a weird place to post this town square rant.

Seat of the pants battery test running 5G Auto iPhone 12. Post 15.1.1 update. TMob Walk 2.08 mi. 60 minutes. Running Runkeeper app + Podcasts + bluetooth earbuds.
battery dropped 25%. I started about 75-80%. Cellular did not drop off. Suburbs Wash DC. Phone running warmer than LTE.

Here’s a typical new iOS release which happens every year like clockwork:

Introduce 5 new questionable meh features and break 20 functions that previously used to work — then spend the remaining year with endless updates trying to fix everything they broke.
But this is the way its always been in computers, Apple, Microsoft, Linux, all the same. Since forever. Nothing new here. I never upgrade until version .5

The update stuffed up my iPhone with a weird mail app showing two apps. Had to factory reset my phone to fix it

I don’t know if this is a new thing but it looks like I can now rename a group chat that has androids in it in iMessage.

Hope this fixes the constant fallbacks to Edge cellular data with my iPhone 13 mini. Since upgrading, I only get 4G half the time.

Anyone else had this problem?
I have had that problem too. Strangely enough it only happened on recent trips to Germany, and only when connected to Telecom (as the provider).

I had to delete Apple News for the same reason.

I have had so many critical calls ring for half a second , then go directly to voicemail.

I hope this fixes that.

I even put specific contacts on emergency override with a special ringtone. But something about the phone or iOS is still sending them directly to voicemail after half a ring
Th at would be a very large pain! Oh no my boss is calling, I wait, it went to voicemail! I see so many laughing moments :)

Just opened my new 13 Mini, and it automatically updated to 15.1.1 when it started up.

Now my old phone (11 Pro) is on 15.1 and you apparently can’t transfer data to the new phone if they are on different iOS versions. Great job there, Apple!

Did you noticed more power consumption when the phone is offline?

This is my consumption chart overnight: all the notification are off, no data, just the phone line for emercy call was active.

why don't they fix the iPhone 13 pro max Apple Watch unlock
This Watch Unlock feature works about 40-45% of the time for me.

I can't explain it, it almost needs to be "warmed up." If I immediately put on the watch, my phone and head out...it won't unlock on the first 10 tries. Might on the 11th, 12th though...for a short bit. Then just fails to unlock again.

It happens on the current 13 Pro Max, this happened on the 12 Pro Max as well. Always been an unstable feature personally.
