Sometimes it can be. I’ve written perfect software myself that has a faultless operational record with 100% uptime (embedded systems written in FORTH)!
I suppose it depends on the definition one is using for “perfect”, since “doesn’t ever crash” is a comparatively low bar, while “cannot possibly be improved in any way“ would probably be the highest bar. I seem to recall a system (parts of the control software for the space shuttle?) that were formally proven to be correct. Cool to hear that you’re working in Forth, it’s been quite a while since I did anything with it.

Many of us only have one phone, and don't have a separate development device. It's never been a recommended practice to run beta software on your primary device.

"Seems to be as stable" is a poor standard to use - it "seems" like I can drive around without a seatbelt on and nothing ever happens. So, it's perfectly fine to just not wear seatbelts, right? Right?

I know what beta means, and it's not "free sneak peak at something cool that's totally stable".

So I'll wait for the official non-beta release, thanks.
It's arguably advisable to wait for a x.1 release after a major x.0 release. Seems to always be something that's not right despite all the betas.

CSAM = Child Sexual Abuse Material. It's not the name of the scanning technology that Apple were going to implement to detect it.
Yes. I know that. I was responding to someone who wrote:

Apple really wants the rest of us to get on the CSAM train.

I thought they were referring to the idea that iOS 15 and up has or will implement that scanning technology. In haven’t heard anything more about Apple’s mention of that scanning technology since they dropped mentioning it from their website.

Cant use the Clear History and Website Data, under safari after update, its greyed out ..anyone else ?

iPhone 11 permanently crashing. Looks like some HW video decoder being the culprit. No videos are playing, just frozen videos eg:- Photos app, Youtube etc. And every 5 mins there is a springboard restart.

EDIT: Downgraded still same problem. Maybe phone got busted after update. Maybe Apple upped the CPU voltage causing permanent damage to the SOC.

Honestly my iPhone running iOS 16 is working a lot better than my iPad on 15.6. Bugs, crashes, and weird behavior all over the place.

I see what you mean. That is AFTER the data is cleared. Go to Safari then let any webpage load. Then go back to Clear History and Website Data button, you will see it's not greyed out but the color of font lights up blue. Now you can click to clear it.

This doesn’t fix the Safari issues with tab groups (background tabs not loading) in iPadOS, that were reintroduced in 15.6

Maybe that time you dropped it last week is finally catching up. More likely than Apple changing CPU voltages to fry it. If it were mine, I'd want Apple to check it over.

I think I’m getting much better battery life out of my 5 year old iPhone SE with this release. The battery use chart is much flatter on idle.

I did go and check I had all these setting done after though and the vast majority were already done.

In all of these security updates, wouldn’t it be nice if they could check to see if you have compromised system files and warn you if has happened?

the delete operation caused the Messages app to go poof and restart without deleting
That's the case since ages, just select a number of attachments (ideally separated by a few normals messages) and try to delete them at once. Very, very frequently Messages just crashes. Just the first attachment is deleted then, the others wait for your action.
Reported, but no change over several major iOS versions.
