Half of my apps got reinstalled after iPhone turned on after update...
Even more strange, it installed 14 apps that wasn't longer on my iPhone before update...
Very strange…

I’ve had Apple default apps restore before after an update (not on any recent releases). Were these ‘purchased’ apps?

Yep, default apps and purchased apps.

To continue this madness after all got reinstalled I got 76 updates, including some for these which just got downloaded...

First time I see that behavior after update. I hope that all is OK, because I don't want to restore my phone.

"- Fixes an issue in Safari where a tab may revert back to a previous page"

This wasn't fixed for me... unless this is not the issue I was thinking of. My tab groups continue to switch back to the Start/About page when I open tabs in the background. Do I need to update ALL of my devices if I sync the tab groups with iCloud?

Please tell me I’m not the only one experiencing the “Pausing Bug”?

Literally any piece of media played on Spotify, the Podcasts App, YouTube (even in CarPlay) keeps automatically pausing.

I’ve tried hard restarting. Closing and re-opening apps… 😡

Well finally bit the bullet and updated from iOS 14 to iOS 15.6.

First thing I noticed after it was done it was trying to update apps even though auto update is turned off and had to stop it from updating certain older apps that were installed with Apple Configurator.
(After stopped reinstalls there was only 10 updates)

Another thing is I have to keep resetting the cellular connection because it stops working, I hope this isn’t a bug.

Hoping I don’t regret upgrading. Was hoping by now they’d have the bugs worked out.

Update: Noticed my shared albums are missing. Hoping they reappear. It’s turned on in iCloud.

Toggling Shared albums in iCloud settings caused them to redownload to my iPhone. Whew.

Another crazy thing it’s doing is it’s installing apps I’ve deleted a long time ago so I have to cancel all the downloads.

Nothing has really been fixed with searching old messages. I can search for old 2011 messages and see them in the results but when you tap on it it goes to last message. It’s only when you tap on a 2016 or newer message you might see the actual text. That’s never been fixed since forever. I like to search/view old texts from my deceased brother and friends.

You know how when you get a notification and you press and hold on it to expand it in the notification area and there’s normally a little X to close it, it’s now missing an iOS 15 so you have to tap back out and then swipe to close it. Dumb.

On a good note Apple Pay works smoother, when changing cards it automatically returns to the double tap side button screen, before you head to press the back arrow.

Another positive, in messages when someone shares their location you no longer need to tap twice to see the little map, it’s on the first screen after you tap on their contact.

Home controls are super laggy now. Like 15 seconds to respond to something like turning on a light. Awesome.

This is the first time in YEARS I can do an iOS and iPadOS update through iTunes and not get a 4000 error. It was annoying as heck having to either restore from backup or turn off passcode (thus removing Apple Pay cards).

Thank you Apple for fixing that.

@gpociej were you upgrading from an older iOS (eg. 14.X or older?) This might be if you haven’t updated in awhile, pre iOS15, and so a bunch of apps are made to update.

I just updated from 15.5, and there wasn’t any of that.

The part about old previous apps being re-installed, that is strange… could be a bug? Were those apps deleted recently (or at least after your last iCloud Backup?)

This happened to me today, but I am on an iOS 16 public beta.

I went to check my second page Home Screen, and the last app was HBO Max. It had been deleted from my phone for almost half a year. Today it was just there…installed.

Honestly not sure how I feel about this. Very weirded out.

this has to do with the last itunes ipdate :) finally fixed true.

Another battery draining update from Apple

I am experiencing overnight drain with ZERO app usage

I am running RC2 since Fri which is exactly the same as this release
just wait 1,2 days, so that the OS index all the things, and then everything will come to normal :)

That’s correct. Installed RC1 with no battery drain. Then installed RC2 that after 1 day is back on no battery drain. Has not updated To final 15.6 yet.

Just installed on my iPad, going from 15.5 to 15.6, and have seen the same problem as others - 18 app updates from the last 2 months have reappeared, even though they had previously been updated.

Oddly looking iMazing it does seem to show that the Apps are on an older version, which is really weird as that would imply they've either downloaded an old version during the upgrade or the old version was hiding on the device somewhere
