Nope! Most of the indexing like Spotlight or photos is done when your iPhone is locked and plugged in. It’s designed this way so as to not put an overhead on the battery while the device is already being used. That’s the reason you see paused photo uploads to iCloud library to save battery.Insane people still believe this nonsense. After an update it takes about 15-30 mins tops to 'index' everything. It has been like that for years. And if you use your phone directly after the update it does it even faster.
How are you fixed for the amount of storage you are using? If you recall, there was a time when some people didn't have enough working storage to upgrade an OS. Apple's answer to that was to sacrifice some of your apps / on-phone storage, then re-install the apps/data from iCloud once the upgrade was done. Maybe something to do with it?Half of my apps got reinstalled after iPhone turned on after update...
Even more strange, it installed 14 apps that wasn't longer on my iPhone before update...![]()
Can someone explain to me why my iPhone 11 can download this update through cellular data on LTE (T-Mobile). But my partner can’t download over cellar on iPhone 13 on 5G (ATT). Someone said some carrier won’t allow it, but it doesn’t make sense, it’s Apple who pushes the updates.
just wait 1,2 days, so that the OS index all the things, and then everything will come to normal![]()
No problem. iOS15 is fluid for me, and some of the features seem a bit complex on iOS16. For me, it's kind of the "if it ain't broken. . ." cliche. Why’s that out of curiosity
Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Options> Data Mode
Must be set to Allow More Data on 5G.
@gpociej were you upgrading from an older iOS (eg. 14.X or older?) This might be if you haven’t updated in awhile, pre iOS15, and so a bunch of apps are made to update.
I just updated from 15.5, and there wasn’t any of that.
The part about old previous apps being re-installed, that is strange… could be a bug? Were those apps deleted recently (or at least after your last iCloud Backup?)
This happened to me today, but I am on an iOS 16 public beta.
I went to check my second page Home Screen, and the last app was HBO Max. It had been deleted from my phone for almost half a year. Today it was just there…installed.
Honestly not sure how I feel about this. Very weirded out.
Just installed on my iPad, going from 15.5 to 15.6, and have seen the same problem as others - 18 app updates from the last 2 months have reappeared, even though they had previously been updated.
Oddly looking iMazing it does seem to show that the Apps are on an older version, which is really weird as that would imply they've either downloaded an old version during the upgrade or the old version was hiding on the device somewhere
gd Apple fixes two things and f*cks up ten other things!! Now airdrop does'nt work! AH's
Apple today released iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6, the sixth major updates to the iOS and iPadOS 15 operating systems that were initially released in September 2021. iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6 come around two months after the launch of iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5.

The iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6 updates can be downloaded for free and the software is available on all eligible devices over-the-air in the Settings app. To access the new software, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
As Apple is wrapping up development on the iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 operating systems, iOS 15.6 is minor in scale and introduces a handful of new features and bug fixes.
The update includes an option to restart, pause, rewind, and fast-forward a live sports game that's in progress, plus it addresses an issue that could cause the Settings app to continue to display that device storage is full even when it's not.
Apple's full release notes for the update are below.iPadOS 15.6 also includes a fix for an iPad mini 6 charging issue.
It's possible that iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6 will be some of the last updates to the iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 operating systems as Apple is now focusing on iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 updates that are set to launch this fall.

Could be that the photos index hasn't been rebuilt yet after upgrade? It seems as though search inside photos is broken after the update. I can’t search for a date or location. Regardless of what I type I see No Results
Yes, all working after it reindexedCould be that the photos index hasn't been rebuilt yet after upgrade?
Nope, still unsupported on my iDevices according to their test page..Did anyone else notice webm video now works.
