Insane people still believe this nonsense. After an update it takes about 15-30 mins tops to 'index' everything. It has been like that for years. And if you use your phone directly after the update it does it even faster.
Nope! Most of the indexing like Spotlight or photos is done when your iPhone is locked and plugged in. It’s designed this way so as to not put an overhead on the battery while the device is already being used. That’s the reason you see paused photo uploads to iCloud library to save battery.

Calling people insane without understanding how things work is not called for.

I personally am seeing flatter lines overnight for the first time in a long time consistently. Find My background usage doesn’t even register anymore with 15.6.

Half of my apps got reinstalled after iPhone turned on after update...
Even more strange, it installed 14 apps that wasn't longer on my iPhone before update...
How are you fixed for the amount of storage you are using? If you recall, there was a time when some people didn't have enough working storage to upgrade an OS. Apple's answer to that was to sacrifice some of your apps / on-phone storage, then re-install the apps/data from iCloud once the upgrade was done. Maybe something to do with it?

It seems as though search inside photos is broken after the update. I can’t search for a date or location. Regardless of what I type I see No Results

Can someone explain to me why my iPhone 11 can download this update through cellular data on LTE (T-Mobile). But my partner can’t download over cellar on iPhone 13 on 5G (ATT). Someone said some carrier won’t allow it, but it doesn’t make sense, it’s Apple who pushes the updates.

Monitoring the battery life not showing the correct percentage since update on my iphone se 2022

Now when I do a clear history and website data it asks if I want to close tabs. Since I only do the clear when I have closed Safari and I'm not a multiple tab user this is very annoying. Make it an option whether to ask or not

Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Options> Data Mode
Must be set to Allow More Data on 5G.

I’m getting old Frequently Visited sites appearing on the Start Page. I delete them but they just come back. Reported to Apple.

Edit: Turned Safari Suggestions off then back on, seems to have fixed it.

Look how many steps that takes, and how many redundant menu titles it takes you through. Apple’s design team for the past 5 years just continues to get worse and worse. Crazy.

@gpociej were you upgrading from an older iOS (eg. 14.X or older?) This might be if you haven’t updated in awhile, pre iOS15, and so a bunch of apps are made to update.

I just updated from 15.5, and there wasn’t any of that.

The part about old previous apps being re-installed, that is strange… could be a bug? Were those apps deleted recently (or at least after your last iCloud Backup?)

This happened to me today, but I am on an iOS 16 public beta.

I went to check my second page Home Screen, and the last app was HBO Max. It had been deleted from my phone for almost half a year. Today it was just there…installed.

Honestly not sure how I feel about this. Very weirded out.

Just installed on my iPad, going from 15.5 to 15.6, and have seen the same problem as others - 18 app updates from the last 2 months have reappeared, even though they had previously been updated.

Oddly looking iMazing it does seem to show that the Apps are on an older version, which is really weird as that would imply they've either downloaded an old version during the upgrade or the old version was hiding on the device somewhere

It was just a step from 15.5 to 15.6, nothing older.

Some of the app was deleted months ago, maybe even in iOS 14 phase.

Few apps after reinstall and following update (😵‍💫) still needed to be reinstalled to work properly.

Smelly situation, now I'm thinking of making an iCloud restore to let all the apps install again from scratch.

Apple today released iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6, the sixth major updates to the iOS and iPadOS 15 operating systems that were initially released in September 2021. iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6 come around two months after the launch of iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5.

iOS-15.6-mock-for-feature-2.jpg

The iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6 updates can be downloaded for free and the software is available on all eligible devices over-the-air in the Settings app. To access the new software, go to Settings > General > Software Update.

As Apple is wrapping up development on the iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 operating systems, iOS 15.6 is minor in scale and introduces a handful of new features and bug fixes.

The update includes an option to restart, pause, rewind, and fast-forward a live sports game that's in progress, plus it addresses an issue that could cause the Settings app to continue to display that device storage is full even when it's not.

Apple's full release notes for the update are below.iPadOS 15.6 also includes a fix for an iPad mini 6 charging issue.

It's possible that iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6 will be some of the last updates to the iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 operating systems as Apple is now focusing on iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 updates that are set to launch this fall.

gd Apple fixes two things and f*cks up ten other things!! Now airdrop does'nt work! AH's

Could be that the photos index hasn't been rebuilt yet after upgrade?

Battery life is really bad on my 13pro.
Overnight drain and unusually high battery drain during daytime use.

Does Apple stop signing iOS 15.5 with this new release or is it still possible to download it and install it? Asking for a friend ;)

That's not the case.
I have more than 30 GB free and I had similar amount before update.
Should be enough to install new version of iOS on new partition before cleaning previous...

I didn't suffer storage bug if that's something to consider too.

How likely (or unlikely) is it that Apple will release an iOS 15.6.1 before 16 is available? I know it’s anybody’s guess, but what’s the betting?

I'm updating my SE2020 from 14.8.1 to 15.6, fresh clean restore + no back-ups.
After restoring, I will do an offline setup: remove sim, use only iTunes (I'm on Windows) to proceed -> remove all built-in apps -> turn off all Siri toggles (because I don't use Siri) -> optimize: reduce motion, turn off screen time, raise to wake, True Tone off, etc etc -> connect Apple account then setup apps from scratch

I'll try to update here after a few days. I hope this update doesn't f*ck up my 84% battery health.
Oh well, Apple iOS updates... we're always discussing about battery and system bugs, damn it.

Edit (2022-07-26; morning):
Done with the setup with apps and everything.
Now, I will check by normal usage.

Edit (2022-07-26; night):
It's great! So far, so good!
It's like a fresh 14.8.1 but a bit better on battery!
no magic battery drains or heat-ups, nor any lag/bugs encountered so far!
