There was only one option to download 15.7 and I did. But you can go into settings under iPhone storage and delete the 15.7 download and then 16 should appear for download.

Just updated my iPhone and iPad. That appears to be a mistake. The App Store insists that the new Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions be accepted, but all that happens is an error. Can’t update any apps.
I'm also getting this on my devices, but this is BEFORE updating either iOS 15.7 or iOS 16. It also still happens when updating my iPad Mini to 15.7.

It's certainly not client-side update related, but something weird is going on (apparently) server-side.

I figured I'd try going 15.7 then 16.0 - why not, what could go wrong...

So far it's looking OK, if you do decide to go 15.7 first you still have option to go to 16.0

That's true on an 11 Pro, and an SE v2 (2020)

On my old 7, not so much - just 15.7

UPDATE: all three have same app store issues as reported above @ 15.7

Here goes 16...

UPDATE on the UPDATE about the Updates: 15.7 - 16.0 smooth on both Pro and SE2...

...but still no further with accepting new T&Cs. One for tomorrow. Night folks.

Alongside iOS 16, Apple has released new versions of iOS 15.7 and iPadOS 15.7. The iOS 15.7 update is aimed at those who are not able to upgrade to iOS 16, while iPadOS 15.7 is available while we wait for the launch of iPadOS 16 in October.

The software updates can be downloaded on eligible iPhones over-the-air by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

The iOS 15.7 and iPadOS 15.7 updates address multiple kernel vulnerabilities in addition to fixing security issues with Contacts, Maps, Safari, Safari Extensions, Shortcuts, and WebKit.

Apple says that one of the kernel vulnerabilities was actively exploited, so those who cannot update to iOS 16 should install iOS 15.7 as soon as possible, and iPad owners should update to iOS 15.7.

all you have to do I did the same thing have an iPhone 13 pro max and accidentally clicked iOS 15.7 all you do to stop download is click on settings iPhone storage look in the list for the download and press delete download and it will stop the download and then you go to general software update and then you will see the iOS 16 to download again hope it helps work for me

Same here.. 🤔

I was given the option to choose from both updates on my 8 Plus. Has iOS 16 been testing well on the iPhone 8+? I feel conflicted now.

The choice is given on all devices that support IOS 16. My second gen SE showed this screen too.

15.7 has locked me out of iTunes store updates - error message not allowing me to agree with T&Cs

I just want to know if the iOS/iPadOS/macOS 16 beta updates have gotten this security fix or confirmation when they do get these security fixes. It's the one downside of running betas.

You can add macOS 12.5.1 (21G83) App Store also not working. I just tried to update Xcode and I'm getting the similar error messaging.

This issue happens regardless of updating or not and on all devices.

There's something on the App Store that's messed up. While there's certainly something introduced in concert with the os updates, it's nothing wrong on your personal devices.

I'm happy that it's finally possible and we have the choice to install only security updates without the (non) feature ones - if we so desire.

Mine gave me two choices. Didn’t take a screenshot but screen read: “also available iOS 16”.
I didn't see (or didn't notice) a second choice. I selected 15.7 without noticing the version number. Immediately after install, I ran check for updates again, and it said the device was up to date. After 20 minutes of reading this thread, I tried again and now I see "IOS 16 is available". So it's installing now. Maybe there's some advantage to a 2 step update?

I didn’t do two step update. But iOS 16 seems to be running fine at first glance on Xs max. Except cant agree to new tos in App Store updates.

Same here. Updates through Appstore can’t be installed right now. iOS 15.7. Poland.
