I wonder when it'll be safe enough to upgrade from 15.7.1 🤔 My new Watch SE 2 won't work with iOS 15 so need to upgrade soon but too much horror stories with iOS 16.
Agreed. I'm hoping 16.2 will be the one but I'm not holding my breath. I refuse to deal with WiFi/Cellular connectivity issues, Face ID not working, and alarms not going off. Apple seems a little in over its head with 16. 🙅‍♂️

If there are horror stories, I wouldn't update.

When are we doing to see an improvement in battery life on iPhone 14 pro line?
With my 13 pro Max I almost had 70% left at night, now a bit over 50 with always on display turned off. 🤷‍♂️ iPhone 14PM

I'm not seeing any issues. My Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max 1TB with AppleCare+ is at least as good as my Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max 512GB with AppleCare+.

Considering Apple care is not a decisive factor 😆 I really notice a downgrade in battery life. Can’t figure out why. Also have 1tb configuration

I don't know about you guys, but I have not noticed any improvement in my carrier ( UK ). hmm... does anyone else in UK or EU notice any improvement?

Carrier updates.

I have Verizon in the Chicago area, and only for the last 5 days certain incoming calls, mostly from one phone number, are going straight to VM. Nothing in the missed call or incoming logs. Verizon can see the incoming calls on their system, and they can see them redirect straight to VM, but they cannot explain why it's happening in the first place or why it's not being logged on my phone. It's also random, in that sometimes this number rings through and sometimes it doesn't. I completly disabled Handoff/Continuity "calls on other devices" and made no difference to the issue.

Happens while at home as well as away from home.

After hours on the phone with several Verizon CSRs blaming my phone settings, they are sending a replacement SIM card. But I'm hoping this update fixes it, as I don't understand how a flaky SIM only affects incoming calls from one number, but not all incoming calls.

For anyone on an iPhone 14/14 Pro, could someone provide the modem firmware and carrier version for Verizon (if you have Verizon)? I'm curious if Apple pushed some of the modem firmware and carrier update changes that they have been making on the 16.2 beta.

Uh, yeah. Unless it does. But AT&T said they weren't gonna update older devices to support it after previously saying they would, so I would assume this update won't, which is terrible because they're still selling those models that aren't fully compatible with their 5G network.
Oh my goodness. Oh no.

Came here to say this. Amen, preach. I'm getting 10% drain per hour on 14PM w/low brightness with all the power-hungry features off

I have been holding off too and am on 15.7.1. My brother is also waiting for me to give him the go ahead to update to iOS 16.

FWIW, I’ve been using iOS 16 since the very first betas and never experienced any of those issues, nor has my wife, either of my parents, my sister in law or my close coworkers. 16 is quite stable at this point in my experience.

It’s not as bad as you’ve probably been hearing but it’s def not as smooth and reliable as 15.7.1. If it hasn’t bothered you to wait very much then I would just wait for 16.2 in a couple weeks. If you’re really excited to use your watch, I would update.

Is that caller on AT&T or an MVNO that uses AT&T? Over on Verizon Reddit, there are a few people that have reported that starting a few days ago, Verizon Call Filter has started blocking calls from callers on AT&T as spam, even if they are in your phone contacts.

You can turn the level of blocking down to high risk calls only, or “allow” that number(s) in the Call Filter app to prevent the blocking until VZ gets it resolved…
