Not really an issue. When you start setting up the new iPhone, it will update and then migrate if you're copying stuff over which should add maybe 10-15 mins to the whole process.

I rarely jump into new OSes, but was tempted - for the first time I've had zero issues with a new iOS on iPad, iPhone, watch, homepod, etc... I was shocked.
But now I feel leery of doing this point upgrade, it'll probably much everything up

Runs well on a 13 too. I've never had such a flawless upgrade (also on iPad, Watch, and HomePodMini)17.0 runs so well on my 12 Pro I don't even want to upgrade
This version makes me home sick...

Glad to hear its improved then. It was a PITA the one time this happened to me. Added an hour or so i felt to the entire process.
Weird.. I had to turn off Beta updates in order to get 17.0.1 to show up.
Edit: Had to also turn off watchOS beta updates for 10.0.1 to appear.

my 64gb 12 mini can't even update because this requires a whopping 4.6gb of space. the 'automatically delete apps' prompt doesn't work.

What we need is fixes for watchOS 10. Battery life on the Apple Watch has tanked hard in that update.

I know. The specific text on my phone said that it was for 15 and 15 Pro. I don't have that, so I don't know why they would specify specific models.
It feels like they accidently put the 17.0.2 text in the 17.0.1 update code.
...I'd rather they wait 5 minutes to be coherent in the updates and what its for though. They're a trillion dollar company but can't seem to pay someone to read?
What model do you have? I updated my air 3 last week, but almost entirely for Logic Pro. I debated on it for a long while and may be able to help with your decision lol. (I loved 15)

Turn Beta updates off and it’ll appear.
Thats because you were on the beta/RC participation rather than public releases/patches. You don't need to update to public patches, as early next week you should see the iOS/IPadOS 17.1 beta 1 and Watch 10.1 beta 1 seeds. Usually security changes get implemented in the next beta seeds. It's strictly optionally because most security implementations are delayed from some past time that Apple worked on getting them done. At least everyone can see what Apple considers should be updated immediately.
