I’m so disgusted with Messages failing to sync between my iPhone, my MacBook, and my iPad, I’ve decided to park my iPad for now. Apple insists on inserting new features that I don’t use but lets bugs persist. Pffft.
When did this start happening? I don't have this problem----I get texts on iPad, Phone and Macbook pro and iMac.

The only issue i have 4 years go was on iOS 13 that everytime i use to take a screenshot my iPhone was restarting but after they fixed in iOS 14 I've never have any problems until today, even on this update released today i have no issues at all

Haven't had the issue described but, it must effect enough users for them to issue an update..
It affected me and it was really annoying. I would type emails and all of a sudden, the sentence I was typing overlapped a sentence I already typed. I usually wait a day or two before I update my phone with these minor updates in case there’s a serious issue with the update, but this bug is so annoying that I’m updating right now.

There is this annoying bug when messaging:

You have eSIM activated and it recognises the number that is on iMessage, and then went you want to change the line to a new iMessage number, it does not come off ‘blue’ and goes to green for SMS. I then cannot sent the message with my eSIM line (non-iMessage).

Does that make sense?

Good news. I was wondering what was going on when my written text paragraphs would just duplicate themselves. Happy it was fixed so quickly.

The issue I have is that sometimes my iMessage threads will disappear and only SMS messages will be shown.
Same- although thankfully it's pretty rare and able to fix with force close (swipe up) of iMessage then everything seems to show up again when reopened

Small update requires iPhone to restart 2 times.
It’s 2024 Apple… and you still require full system restart for small fixes or you BS about the actual fixes in the release notes.
What’s the purpose of rapid software updates? A Text line in the overly bloated settings app???

Oh, thank you!

This has been such a problem for me recently. I’m not sure exactly when it became a problem, but I definitely knew something was wrong four days ago after I was trying to type (with great difficulty!!! lol) a work email.

And (as I was typing this exact message) it happened again! 😂🤣

This has been such a pain in the butt. I’m going to start to download it immediately after hitting “Post reply”.

(Ugh. I couldn’t make it to the end of this short reply without it happening a second time, lol.)

Still looking for them to address the issue with dual sim texts defaulting to the primary number although the thread whether new or existing originated from the 2nd line. It would actually be awesome if I could iMessage with both lines but not sure what's the limiting factor.

Aside from that wireless carplay has been more unstable and heating up the phone to where it slows the phone down and can't keep up.

I also have the same issue with dual sim texts defaulting to the primary number. I went through settings, toggled iMessage off and on to see if that would help but nothing. Thought I changed something by mistake so for now I just switch off the primary line before sending a message via secondary. At least it is very infrequent that I have to send a message via secondary so it is just a minor inconvenience for now.

Okay. Let’s see. I’m typing this on my iPhone (updated my iPhone, my iPad is updating now). I never noticed any problems on my iPad (just problems on my iPhone-only).

I’m typing this out and I don’t see any immediate issues. It’s definitely a far better typing experience. I think everything is okay now.

Is the keyboard still laggy?
I don’t notice any lag after the update. Though keyboard lag wasn’t typically a problem for me (only occasionally).

I’m just continuing to type now to see if I can get any errors to happen. But nothing (bad) seems to be happening. The autocorrect is still awful, but that’s been the case since iOS 17 was released (so that’s not unusual, lol).

And okay. I’ll stop typing now. Everything seems fine. Thank you, Apple, for fixing this. Don’t let it happen again (lol), but thank you for fixing it relatively-quickly.

My messages sync perfectly with all my devices except Apple Watch, which doesn’t support it begin with. Why would you assume that everybody has the same issues as you? There is no sync bug. Whatever is going on for you is something else.

My ipad mini 6 battery has tanked on the previous iOS… so I hope this has a battery fix. Its very odd… none of my apps are misbehaving.

Oh, i forgot… the new ipad mini is just around the corner 🤔🤨
