Language set as it’s always been, English(UK)How?
Its not going to work in the UK until we get Apple Intelligence.
Unless your language is set to American etc.... we dont even get clean up.
Yeah it says it’s Beta on the logo in settingsMaybe this is a typo, but it says that Apple Intelligence features are released in a beta capacity.
No, that's correct. Take a look at the Apple Intelligence icon in Settings. It has a 'BETA' label/badge on it.Maybe this is a typo, but it says that Apple Intelligence features are released in a beta capacity.
Is 18.1 a beta release? That’s what beta builds are for to improve different versions of 18.2.

They'll be in beta for a long time. That's the Apple MO lately. I think iCloud might still be in betaDid I read correctly, the Apple Intelligence features released today are still in beta?
I was replying to a comment that it was maybe going to get pulled. Maybe you should put the reply in context instead of trying to be smartIs 18.1 a beta release?
So, is this small update (arounnd 256GB, I think) the final RC, or the final 18.1 release, or do you think there's another Apple 'SUPRISE' around the corner! The RC isn't always the same as the final release. What was released today is a newer build than the RC.
Thank youLanguage set as it’s always been, English(UK)
Just went into photos, selected the 3 dashes then selected Clean Up which then did a download.

Easy, big fella! There’s a lot you don’t get from people posting txt on the internet. To me, what you said made it seem like 18.1 might be a beta. That’s all.I was replying to a comment that it was maybe going to get pulled. Maybe you should put the reply in context instead of trying to be smart
It is the final 18.1 release since it was released to the public. They probably built an update towards the end of last week and didn't have time or felt the need to push another RC through the beta channel first, so they just went straight to the public with it. There will be no more surprises. If they need to do another update, it'll be 18.1.1. Keep in mind that 'RC' means 'Release Candidate'. There could be multiple RCs, as we seen with macOS last week. It also does not mean that the RC we get will be the same build that gets released to the public. So, is this small update (arounnd 256GB, I think) the final RC, or the final 18.1 release, or do you think there's another Apple 'SUPRISE' around the corner!
My guess is that they wanted to make it more prominent. So we know when Siri is active. I kinda like it.I wish there was a way to disable the garish new Siri animation. It’s just ghastly.
I have Siri turned off on all of My devices. So I’ll never see it.My guess is that they wanted to make it more prominent. So we know when Siri is active. I kinda like it.
Yeah my brother is the same. He just doesn't see the utility. To each their own. I find it very useful for some things. It is especially useful on my watch.I have Siri turned off on all of My devices. So I’ll never see it.
This entire rollout is pathetic. On top of the tens of millions of devices that can't even run any of this, Apple thinks everyone who has a year old phone is gonna just run out and get a new device....to get on a wait list.
What a disappointing update this is, especially for us in the UK. No Apple Intelligence unless I switch to US English, not a chance in hell of that happening. No Hearing Aid feature on the AirPods 2 either. I can't find anything that is actually an update! Why could Apple not realise Apple Intelligence in more languages than just US English, this is either sloppy work, or a rushed release. Apple Intelligence was announce months ago, but most of it won't be available until well into next year. How about Apple not announcing stuff until it's almost ready, rather than a year away.
The waitlist is one of the worst Apple UX experiences in a long time. They are heavily advertising this feature, and it just is not available in 18.1 without digging into settings. I consider myself somewhat plugged into what's going on in the Apple world and I had no idea this would be the case (I knew there was a waitlist for the prerelease OS builds, but that makes sense).
How would the average user even discover this?
As an aside been sitting on the waitlist for 2 hours now with no indication when it will even activate or become available. Even Ticketmaster has a better queuing system then Apple!
he forgot to mention they are 3-4 years behind in AI
