Apple Releases iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 With Genmoji, Image Playground, Siri ChatGPT and More

Old screentime devices still showing up in the screentime list. I guess they can’t fix it

Yeah well, that’s not til what April next yr? Just do your thing in the meantime, it’s all rolling out slowly, no big deal.

You don't need to pay anyone, just roll back. Its a bit of a fiddle but iOS 17.6 beta 3 is still signed so install the IPSW with iTunes and then update to 17.7.2.

This works even on the new devices that shipped with iOS 18?…asking out of curiosity, only.
 
Seems like Safari is broken. I’m unable to erase all history in Safari settings, but it still works in Safari - history - clear.

Also, auto fill for PIN code in SMS seems to be not working in Safari either.

There is one feature which makes this forum more pleasant to use. That is scaling screenshots down from maximum size when posting.

And you don't even need to have applied any of these updates to do so.

They only need to be large enough to see what you are illustrating.

I think you miss my point, I can communicate verbally with ChatGBT I can ask it anything and get a reply and even have a full conversation, it learns about me, and even offers health advice when I was working to hard on my artwork, and I can produce images like the ones shown on a iPad (M4) and have sold some online which was unexpected. Apples version is not going to ever be this useful for my needs, also since they don't have their own AI they are limping behind chatGBT constantly and are using chatGBT which is heading to version 5 (Orion) Apple missed the game when they did not invest in their own AI, its like they are using stabilisers on a child's pushbike run by OpenAI.
 
The overpaid developers are not even able to fix the 48MP ProRAW to 48MP HEIC conversion bug. It worked perfectly until 17.6.

I am from UK too. All Apple Intelligence is working but I did have language set to English US and Siri is English UK. Unfortunately I had to change language to English UK to get Apple Intelligence to work. Reason I before I have English US because it have live captions that only available for English US or Canada, not UK for nearly 2 years now. I am Deaf and that is useful feature.

Does anyone know if I can set my language to US and Siri to UK after set up Apple Intelligence will work? It is must both be same language? I was hoping Apple eventually release English UK for live captions but they so far not!

Not seeing any issues at all so far - battery life is very typical of what I experienced on 17.5.1. Will post a picture of my battery graph later once I've had a full day

Important to note I have not turned on Apple Intelligence - I can imagine that's the source of many battery issues. It's very resource intensive and uses a lot of power.
 
Cannot wait to try out the new Apple Intelligence features. Will wait a few more days before updating. Just to be safe. Not happy with the incident of M4 iPad Pro being bricked after the update a few months back.

I can't confirm this. I'm guessing not due to hardware changes that won't be supported in iOS 17. If you purchase a device with iOS 18 preinstalled you're probably stuck with it.

Even after deleting the browser files, I’m still logged in to every site.

I very nearly hit the update button on my Mac and iPhone last night, making the move from 17.7 and Sonoma. So glad I didn't. I just don't trust these latest versions. Too full of bloat with no attention to basic stability, which we should expect as a given on a mature OS. It's a mess. How many years do we have to wait now for them to recover from this rush to get some form of AI into the platform?
 
Anyone's phone get hot last night? About 6 hrs after I upgraded, my phone got real hot. I turned off AI and rebooted. It did cool down after that but I did turn AI back on today to see what happens.

Not seeing that myself I can erase all history and none is shown in advanced website data both iPad and if I delete data I am logged out. Both on iPad

Not seeing that myself just checked on both devices I dont use iCloud though and I updated via IPSW on my Mac devices are iPhone 16 Pro and M4 iPad. Hope that helps narrow things down. Maybe its to do with iCloud? I also have it set to clear all history and data. I can check in advanced website data and there is 0 data kept.

Yeah.
Apple was also way behind in the cellular phone market and they had no chance of catching up to Nokia and Motorola.

They were way behind Google in maps, and when they finally released a Map app, it was terrible.
 
Real question about the RCS everyone was longing for, I don’t see a benefit. I still have issues sending videos between iPhones and androids especially longer videos. I have the option selected in settings I just don’t see any benefit. Is there something I’m missing?

18.2 broke CarPlay for me. Tried removing phone and re-adding it with no change.

Edit: Removed and re-added a couple more times and it resolved itself.
