I waited until now to update. I was on 17.5.1...

I'm picky about battery life and bugs

Seems okay so far. After 15 minutes the phone is cool to the touch and idle CPU usage is under 3%, like normal
Around 5 hours screen time with 50% battery usage. Pretty much within margin of error of what I used to get on iOS 17.5

Apple “intelligence” disabled.

Anyone updated to 18.2 on their 2018 iPad Pro 11" A12X? Any noticeable issues or should I wait until mid January to upgrade?

I have solved the increase from 5 percent per hour battery use to 10 percent with most of the iPadOS 18.2 betas (except beta 5 and RC 10 and official 18.2 iPadOS on my M4 iPad Pro. It is the Apple intelligence that tis causing the drain. I am not sure why it went back to 5 percent for the beta 5 and RC 1 but it is back in the full 18.2 (I see loss on my iPhone 15 PM also). Genmoji, Playground, and Siri/ChatGPT are nothing to me will miss the writing tools a bit but again I can use my own mind for searching and writing so do not need it. I am bowing out of apple intelligence for now and not gonna turn it on even when the later stuff comes with 18.3 and 18.4. I do not need my computer to replace using my own mind and skills no thanks apple.

The power use in middle of chart is 10 percent (look at slope and time) where as the end one is without Apple Intelligence and lower slope and back to 5 percent per hour yeah not a big drain but i like how long I can use my iPad at 5 percent without needing charging cycles and aging battery faster. Have fun with apple intelligence I am done with it for the foreseeable future
