interesting.. my 13min had ~700MB. Hmm.361.2 MB on 13 Mini
Must be a different built than RC as MR reported.

It could be a tree:Well I for one am interested to learn if my four-legged pet is a cat or a dog, or could it be a meerkat.
Exactly.
What’s the target public for this?
I’m baffled.
My understanding is that we get the full set of features in the EU in April with iOS 18.4. So, a little more waiting is required. However, it does work on M-powered Macs here already. I’ve played with the Image Playground app and with Clean Up in Photos on my M1 MacBook Air. Not too shabby — if a little limited. Now give 18.4 Europe is readyyyyy to try out AI

18.3, build 22D63 for my iPhone 14whats the build number?
That feature came with iOS 15.4 a few years ago. Works for some animals, too. Simply open a photo in Photos and wait for the Visual Lookup symbol at the bottom to appear. Tap that and you’ll get some information about the plant or creature. If the symbol doesn’t appear then the system can’t identify any flora or fauna. How about if a plant is poison ivy or not?
Physical button onlySo it wouldn't work with, say, a software button in iPhone 15 Pro camera app? It needs a physical button?
Can always jump to android 😂😂So far Apple Intelligence has offered:
iOS 18 has been out since September and I have yet to see anything groundbreaking in anything coming out for being the flagship feature of the OS update. Feels like 12 months of development was completely for naught on the OSes.
- Updating stuff I've already written to sound more professional or friendly
- Notification summaries that have been mostly disabled, because they weren't working
- Emojis that I can invent, but don't add any value.
- I can take pictures of plants or animals and get more information about it.
To be honest, I think that Google's "Gemini Live" is a fantastic implementation of "AI" even if it's not quite fully there yet. The "talking back and forth" and "brainstorming" parts are where you can get the real power of it. I need AI to fill in the blanks of my thought process.Physical button only

Of course there is data collection happening. Its local.Everything runs on device except GPT so there’s no privacy concerns or data collection happening.
Settings>Apple Intelligence & Siri and turn off the toggle at the top
Anyone with a sense of curiosity about the world. Or consumerists. Works great for IDing random products.
Visual Intelligence only identifies animals and plants, per iOS 18.3 release notes. Google Lens widget on iPhone (older models too) on the other hand identifies all kinds of things and objects – without the physical button nonsense limiting visual intelligence to iPhone 16.
Have you tried it? Did a great job IDing my mouse and keyboard just now. Listed examples are just that - examples.
I had Apple Intelligence turned off in Settings -> Apple Intelligence and Siri in iOS 18.2 on my iPhone 14 Pro. Installed the 18.3 update today, and I no longer have an "Apple Intelligence and Siri" in 18.3, only a "Siri" one. Looks like I can't even opt to turn Apple Intelligence on (not that I can imagine doing so). The inverse-Hotel California effect?Your phone has had AI features for at least a decade now.
But if it bothers you that much, it’s in the settings panel that’s called “Apple Intelligence and Siri”.
The switch labeled… Oh, what was it again? Oh yeah, “Apple Intelligence”. First switch right on the top, you can’t miss it.
