It is a camera phone. How exactly would you redesign it?

How did Apple choose to redefine the smart phone with the iPhone in the first place? They looked at where the best in brand were failing and they designed and engineered an innovative product.

They need to look at what the other manufacturers are doing to respond to the iPhone and see what works and what doesn’t to change up the form factor. Foldable devices are a great start—I’ve played with some of the better ones and while they aren’t what I’d want to use, the sales are happening for them.

The new photos app is damn near making me explore other phones. Simplicity is what I love about Apple, and the iOS 18 Photos app is bloated to the max with bad UX options. Hey, I got an idea, let’s make an even bigger screen, and then make tiny icons furthest away from a person’s thumb, like a little “x” on the top right corner…

Honestly, I wish there was an option for choosing simple classic view/advanced view.

After working with ios 18 for a few days now, I'm overall really liking the changes. I see a lot of criticism towards the photo app, but I'm liking that as well. Ios 18 seems like the biggest update in years.

Since the update I've been having CarPlay and Home control issues.

In CarPlay, I can no longer ask Siri to read a text message. And if I ask it to, the Siri icon shows up for a while then disappears. After that, I often can't get my music to play again. I'm forced to disconnect and reconnect my phone from my car.

The Home issues are that a few devices are no longer reporting their status or behaving strangely. The three devices are two Vocolinc bulbs and one Vocolinc plug. All three occassionally don't report their status. And the bulbs turn themselves on now and then.

I hate these "X update is out, update now!" threads.
With another hat on, I contribute to an amateur-musicians' FB group, and every year, leading up to the launches of the new MacOS and new iOS, I end up almost PLEADING with people to NOT be Day 0, Day 1 or even Day 60 updaters.
Sure as night follows day, there's always an absolute barrage of people complaining that such-n-such app no longer works correctly, or such-n-such plugin no longer works in their DAW. Well guess what, idiots, that's why me and others tell you NOT to update so soon. And a lot of their ill-thought-out haste, which results in so much unnecessary heartache for them, is caused by the inevitable fact that my advice is drowned out by stupid threads like this.
