OK, I updated a little earlier and am trying to update my Watch too. But it seems I now have a Wifi bug on my 17 that I didn't have before: it was downloading the update to the watch, the display turned off, and when I unlocked a little later the Wifi connection was off (and it can't complete the Watch update). Same thing happened again a few minutes after I resumed the Watch update. Be careful out there.

Something to note - both my Air and 17 Pro are scorching hot after this update. Waiting for them to cool down, had to put them on top of the air purifier vent so that wind can cool them off, never had a phone get this hot before.

Also, none of the visual bugs since beta 7 were fixed.
Same. Pretty warm on install and a few mins afterward. Must be re-indexing

Now to see if the “re-indexing” keeps heating up my 14 pro randomly doing nothing like it has been since my initial install of iOS 26 and my restored backup. Still waiting for my photos section to show up in message threads.

Hopefully the blurry icons have been fixed as it doesn’t look good

There is a security fix included in the update as well. From Apple:

CVE-2025-43400: Apple

<<For those who are unable to update to iOS 26.0.1, Apple has released a iOS 18.7.1 update.>>

You mean for those who want no part of iOS 26. I bought my first Apple product in 1995, a Power Macintosh 8500. This is the first time in 30 years Apple has released something so bad and perplexing that I will walk away rather than accept it and pretend to like it.

I myself am updating to iOS 18.7.1 and iPadOS 18.7.1 (for now). I may just end up waiting for iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1 coming in circa middle October 2025 before updating my iPhone 16 Plus and iPad Air M3 13" to iOS 26 versions.

I'm actually doing the same with my M4 iPad pro.

How can you proclaim how "bad and perplexing" something is when you haven't used it? iOS 26 is good, especially now that 26.0.1 was just released. I have no idea how proclaiming something without any evidence to support it improves anyone's life.

Honestly, I'd bet money that a lot of the rabble about how "bad" iOS 26 is is being posted by AIs and paid-rabble by companies like Samsung and others. Are there bugs? Of course. Is it show-stoppingly bad? Nope. But, would samsung try really, really, really hard to make it seem like the phones will self-destruct in your hands like the Note 7? Of course!

I wonder does that also include iOS/iPadOS 18.7.1?

Stuck at Software Update. Not loading anything.

Is it the same with iOS 26 update. For some reason Apple's server has been VERY slow for iOS 26 release. As they they cut down server amount.

Stop with the "paid shills" nonsense.

I really dislike iOS 26 too, and yes I have used it as it's installed on my work-provided device. I'm not installing it on my personal iPhone 16 Pro anytime soon because I can't stand transparency in my OS. I don't like moving/shifting rings around my icons and widgets, and I don't want clear animations. The world isn't clear...I don't interact with clear books, my laptop isn't clear, my desk isn't clear, the paperwork on my desk isn't clear, my TV isn't clear, my washing machine controls aren't clear, my car controls aren't clear... I could go on and on.

I don't care what Samsung is doing because I don't pay attention to Samsung. If I was to get an Android, it would be a Pixel.
