I'm not sure if this is a bug or intended behavior, but if you're using clear mode on the home screen, and tap a widget, then close the app, the widget is discolored for a split second after closing and then goes back to being clear. It looks pretty clunky and sloppy. I reported this back in the beta and can confirm it's still present in this update on my iPhone Air.

This is my main visual bug that I keep hoping gets fixed. Started in beta 7 and was never fixed. Looks like Apple doesn’t know how to fix it without breaking something else so they’re just ignoring it.

At least the WiFi issue appears to be solved on my 17PM, CarPlay for me was WiFi related but I will find out for sure this afternoon as I'll be on a trip for like 5 hrs
I just updated my iPhone and will be leaving work shortly. I'll plug it into the car and see how it goes. FWIW, my car has Ford SYNC 3 which means is cannot do wireless CarPlay, and I was still having problems with it working.

I have an ionic 5 but use a wireless adapter, the only time I had issues was when I used my phone while the car was on, dropped wifi, just driving and not using the actual phone was fine for me. Hope it'll work for you

Does anyone else’s calendar app also not start on today’s date if that date isn’t selected. I. e.: if go to yesterday, force close the app, then open it again, the app opens on yesterday instead of today? (The setting to start on today’s date is enabled)

Please tell me this also fixes wired CarPlay crashing. From the notes it appears to fix the reasoning behind wireless crashing at least...
This is all I care about too. I have upgraded my iPhone every year since the original iPhone was released. This is by far the most disappointing update, you’re forced to use OS 26.0 which has been extremely unreliable especially with frequent disconnects and the call being routed to the internal speaker when driving on a highway. Not to mention having the largest battery capacity and the battery life is total ass.

Staying on 18.7.1 for two reasons. 1, my main is a XS Max and can’t update, and 2, I’ve seen what a crapshow 26 is so I’m holding off on my iPad Air M1.

Tbh I’m holding off buying a new iPhone until 26 is worked out.

Your probably going to be waiting a while. "worked out" will be most likely be by March-April 2026. maybe even June 2026

It’s not that bad. Had a 15 Pro with all the betas and the final of iOS 26. Upgraded to a 17 Pro on launch and have a second phone for work (iPhone 13). The 17 pro is now on 26.0.1 while 26.1 beta 1 is on the iPhone 13.
It all works pretty fine for me. There are some visual issues in iOS 26 but it’s stable and it works. All these horror stories about it aren’t true (as mostly every year around a new release). Apple definitely needs to further polish this release but it’s far away from being unstable or not useable.

<<For those who are unable to update to iOS 26.0.1, Apple has released a iOS 18.7.1 update.>>

You mean for those who want no part of iOS 26. I bought my first Apple product in 1995, a Power Macintosh 8500. This is the first time in 30 years Apple has released something so bad and perplexing that I will walk away rather than accept it and pretend to like it.

Apple today released iOS 26.0.1 and iPadOS 26.0.1, the first updates to the iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 operating systems that came out earlier this week.

The new software can be downloaded on eligible iPhones and iPads over-the-air by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

According to Apple's release notes for the update, iOS 26.0.1 addresses a bug that could cause aberrations in photos captured with the iPhone Air and the iPhone 17 Pro models. It also fixes ongoing cellular and Wi-Fi issues that iPhone 17 owners have been dealing with, and addresses a bug with tinted icons. Apple's release notes are below.
The iPadOS 26.0.1 update fixes the same VoiceOver issue and also addresses a bug that could cause the floating keyboard to change positions unexpectedly.

For those who are unable to update to iOS 26.0.1, Apple has released a iOS 18.7.1 update.

My camera beef maybe because of sloppy UI? Iphone 14 iOS 26.0.1. In camera, the action button varies to the type of photo/video you want to shoot. OK. Pic 1 shows I picked “portrait “ with the text lined up centered with the action button adjust. But look what “video” and “photo” do! These two
2️⃣ un items do not line up with the action button center when selected. It’s annoying. Does anyone here know if this is purposeful?

Does anyone have an iPhone 16 Pro Max with OS 26.0? I had no issues with my 16 Pro Max (before trade in) on iOS 18. Would be good to confirm if this is a hardware issue related to 17’s or if it is OS 26.0 too.

It was intermittent for me between my car and my dads car.

I used it on the way home today and it worked fine. 🤞

Hi, is anyone having issues with Wi-Fi, specifically that it’s once again slower than on the iPhone 16 Pro? Also, during speed tests, the upload measurement always starts to lag. Does anyone else have this problem too? On the iPhone 16 Pro I get 100 Mbps download and 90 Mbps upload, but on the iPhone 17 Pro it’s only 50 Mbps download and 40 Mbps upload.

I had no issues with my 16 Pro Max the following few days after trade in, after I had this bug on my 17 Pro Max. It seems 17 specific.
