People who own ProMax devices (especially 15,16,17) and they have problems with battery and performance after paying top money for their devices, aren’t they MAD with Apple?
I own iPhone 12 and I don't have high hopes (that’s why I didn’t upgrade) since my device is old and I don’t think that it will perform better than iOS 18.
But seriously if I had iPhone 17 pro max I will literally expect nothing but perfection performance wise. There isn’t any excuse for Apple, period.

Sigh, so on every device you have to turn off increase contrast and reduce transparency, in order to be able to set Liquid Glass to tinted ... and then go back to accessibility to enable the other two again.
Not impressed.

It appears we are encountering a known issue in
iOS 26.1 where the haptics (vibration) for incoming calls and after answering a call may not work as expected or may continue for an extended period. This is a recognized bug within the update

The Liquid Glass mess caused me to reflect on Steve Jobs' 2005 commencement address at Stanford. In it he relates three of his life lessons to the grads. The first involves how his sitting in on a calligraphy class at Reed College ultimately drove his obsession with typography and led to multiple type faces and proportional fonts on the Mac. My takeaway was this ultimately drove Apple's culture to focus on simple elegance as a market differentiator. While life does march on, and Steve certainly had his faults, I do miss those days.

I experienced my current GPS location freezing on iOS 26.0.1. It wasn't a navigation issue, as the location was stuck in all apps. Killing and restarting the app didn't help; the only solution was restarting the phone. The problem occurred every few days, at random times while I was driving, and it was very annoying.

I found that I'm not the only person with this problem:

I'm curious if this issue has been fixed in iOS 26.1.

I've had numerous issues with my iPhone Air connecting to my 2025 Honda Passport... I usually have the disconnect and re-connect it at least once a day. It's very finicky on the connection. When I updated my previous iPhone 14 to iOS 26 before my Air purchase I had none of these issues. I sure hope this update helps.
If wired, try a new cable.

I just want my 16Pro to stop turning into a burning hot coal in my hand, every time something Liquid Glass is on screen.

I've completely stopped using Safari on iOS 26, otherwise, after about 2 minutes in Safari, 2nd-degree burns become a real danger.

is 26.1 showing up in finder for anyone on their mac? Have tried two and it says 26.0 is the latest version. Can't update directly on phone as out of storage.

Updated everything hoping it’ll fix the constant AirPlay issues but nope!

Streaming music is as temperamental as it’s been since iOS 26. Individual HomePod stops playing while the others continue to play. Then starts playing again. Then a different one stops. Then all disconnect.

When trying to stream again, Spotify and Apple Music show as if the song is playing but there’s no sound coming out through the HomePods. Selecting to play through the iPhone works, select HomePods - nothing!

The same happens when using HomePods as Apple TV speakers.

Thank god I have an old iPad which is the only device that can stream with no issues whatsoever.

So so so frustratingly annoying!

Well yesterday went as well as a train wreck for me with this stupid update. I remembered seeing that someone had issues with it looping or something, and I thought to myself-- hopefully that won't happen to me.

A little before 2PM I went to update--- seemed to be going well. Had my phone plugged in and it was at 100% battery. After an hour I noticed the phone wasn't actually updating. It froze at the full progress bar with the apple logo on it. I took it down to our office's tech desk and we couldn't figure out how to get it out of being frozen. The phone had been very hot so I was pretty concerned. They said to take it to the Apple Store, so I did.

Taking the metro was a pain in the butt now because my Apple Watch no longer wanted to behave. Couldn't use my metro card payments, or anything so I had to go get cash.

By the time I got to the mall with the store, it was still frozen, still hot, and no update. I got to the store itself around 5PM and just as I get to the entrance, it magically finished updating. Of. Flippin'. Course. That's how it always is. Battery was at maybe 20% max by this point.

The issue was-- it was absolutely impossible to do anything with the newly updated phone. It lagged harder than ever before, the app icons were non-responsive to being moved and the screen kept rubberbanding back and forth when I tried to navigate anything. They ran diagnostics and said nothing physically was wrong with the device (logic board was mentioned several times, and how it wasn't that) so it was the update/ios26.

They had to wipe everything. The whole thing. I was told my stuff would be back after logging into my account and downloading my apps again. Nooooope. I had to start all over again.

I spent all last night and this morning trying to get stuff put back together. My Apple Watch (newest one) was no longer recognizable and I had to wipe that and re-pair. I lost all my wallpapers, all my bookmarks and shortcuts, I lost all my settings, my accounts no longer wanted to work with the password apps I use, and now my older watch faces (the more readable ones) were gone and replaced with the obnoxious new layout. Older ring tones no longer will download, so those are gone. My financial cards had to be manually verified via phone, and it was just really frustrating.

Now Im dealing with trying to get photos to work the way I had it, and dealing with obnoxious notifications, settings, announced crap, and junk that pops up on a whim.

I wish iOS 26 had never been released. it's still to this day a miserable mess that makes me regret having gone with iPhones instead of android phones. Yesterday's update was figuratively and literally a hot mess (thought the device would melt down) and has further eroded my trust in Apple.

If you've not updated yet-- might wanna wait.

Other than the obvious new features, I’ve noticed animations are a lot more fluid on my 14 PM. There’s still stutter when swiping from my widgets to my home screen, but I can live with it. Overall a solid update and what iOS 26 should’ve been from the start.

Bloody hell, what an extreme rollercoaster you had to go through because of this update, and doesn’t seem to be a 1 or 2 person problem, so sorry to hear that bro.

I am glad things has slowly getting sorted out for you, but man, to loose all your stuff, redo everything, and try to get back close enough to how you had your phone, what a pain in the back, I wish you all the best and others who is facing smilier behaviour.

This is unacceptable. OS updates should not put us back at square one, even if everything can be recovered (and we know not everything can be recovered like the ring tones), and even if a small number of users are affected. These phones have become essential tools, not nice-to-have-but-could-live-without devices.

I'll continue stay on iOS 18 for now, and if and when I update, I will be prepared for the worst (as best I can).
