Maybe this will fix the sandtrap known as 4.0.1 that slowed down my brother's 3G model tremendously. Multitask code for a non-multi task unit- yeah, that won't hurt things.
How about a built in task/memory manager.

Please Fix the Proximity

I sure hope that a fix is soon to be released! My wife hangs up on nearly every call she makes. Not only does she hang up on the call, but starts a completely new call while in the middle of her sentence. In addition to the problem with the proximity sensor she continues to drop more calls than she ever did with her iPhone 3G (Bumper and all). Maybe a bum phone and it is time to call Apple to get it replaced!! She is about ready to send it back to Apple and go back to her old iPhone 3G. :(

I do have to add that we have twin boys that are 10 months old, so she uses here shoulder to hold the phone when on calls. This has probably caused a lot of the problem, but in comparison with the iPhone 3G she never had this problem. Is this because the sensor has moved above the ear piece or is it really a software issue? I sure hope that it is a software issue!! I have only had the problem once with my phone. We have both had our phones since the release date.

Question for the developers. When you're given a Beta such as this, does Apple ask you to review certain features and functions, or do they just want you to review everything you can find? Just always curious.

Apple really needs to fix the proximity sensor and iPhone 3G terribleness. My 3G is almost completely useless.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A306 Safari/6531.22.7)

Game Center support is removed for iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G users.

WTF, why the hell does Apple want to make sure that we upgrade our ********** devices?

alright guys I'm running iOS 4.1 Beta 3.

Please post exactly what you would like me to test. I never seemed to experience this proximity issue.

I am using a Week 30 iPhone 4.

Cheers.

I'm hoping for a fix with the Nike+ application. It's a built-in Apple app, and it stopped working properly when iOS4 was released.

Can anyone post the full release notes?

The Apple developer agreement doesn't allow us to post those things. Besides, it's a beta release, and things often change, even from beta to beta.

Take every change, even the game center change with a grain of salt. Could be that they needed to optimize some code for ARM6 support or something simple like that.

Take your phone back to Apple and get a new one.

Useless?? Really? Have you tried using a bluetooth earpiece? I don't mean to minimize the problem, but if I were experiencing the problem (I am not), then I would use that as a workaround until a fix is available.

Game Center has been included on these devices (and ran fine) since the beginning of iOS 4. Apple also never mentioned Game Center not being supported on these devices.

Why would Apple remove it now?

"And ran fine"

What exactly did you run in Gamecenter? None of the real functionality has existed in the previous releases and you haven't been able to talk to Apple's servers with it anyway. So again, what?

Blackberry OS 6 response? Well...sort of.

Uh.

One bug fixed

There was a bug in 4.1 betas 1 and 2 where certain calendar items synced from Exchange servers were causing the Calendar to crash. Seems to be fixed with beta 3.
