My download keeps getting about 1/3 of the way and then fails with a network timeout error. Tried it about five times so far. Anyone else getting this? I'm trying to figure out if it's because Apple's servers are getting hammered, or if I have a problem with my internal network or cable modem service.

future

For the future does anyone know how to install a GM (or a beta) without doing a full restore (meaning totally wiping out) your phone?

does anybody elses say its going to take 5 hours to download?

It mentioned 2 hours after downloading the first 50MB. Well I ran the risk of stopping and restarting (it doesn't pause or resume) and it's definitely faster. 50MB passed and it's saying 25 minutes, wait, 27 minutes, no 31 minutes, ...

Safari is def faster on my 3GS. Mobile pages, especially, are lightning quick now.

So much so, it feels like I upgraded my hardware as well.

No noticeable differences on my 4G iPod touch, just the Facetime icon is different now. Safari seems about the same.

NOOOOOOOO something happened during the update and now I have to restore it deleting all my music I have spent hours encoding down for the iPhone :(

Apology Necessary

Now everybody who swore up and down that 4.3 wouldn't be released a nanosecond earlier than 10:00 AM PST on March 11 needs to apologize. Now! :D

btw your signature should be 'for all intents and purposes'...'for all intensive purposes' actually means absolutely nothing.

I strongley disaggree.

Guess someone's bitter with AT&T's hotspot charges. :D:p

Nah, I just have no need for that feature.:p

The only part of the update that is useful to me is the increased browser speed.....that is, if it will increase Atomic Browser's speed as well.

I actually meant how to get the GM installed early, since the GM is pretty much always the same build as the launch. clicking update just tells me my version is the current version...
If you have the GM downloaded before it's officially released, instead of option+clicking the Restore button, try option+clicking the Update button. It should allow you to select the file and update the same way it allows you to select the file and restore.

That's odd. What happened to March 11?

The consortium has decided to skip it. We'll go from March 10th to the 12th, giving February its extra day retroactively this year. That actually means that today is yesterday. So don't bother getting up tomorrow, you're already up today.

That will be all citizen.

Thanks! This is good to know!
