Is anyone seeing horrible battery life with this beta? Also for some reason my apps took ages to sync back and when i say ages i mean, an entire evening for 130 apps... that usually sync in an hour... My battery life didnt last me for even 5 hours and the weird part is that it showed 6 hours standby 6 hours use time... something keeps the phone active apparently. Also just tested it and it lost 20% charge in a matter of 45mins-1hour while sitting idle.

Not sure why you have been so downvoted. The Wifi music sync def isn't working properly, it wasn't in Beta 4 either; I've seen all the issues you described and a couple more.

Maybe because he was complaining about bugs in a beta and assuming those bugs will go unsquashed to release despite the month (likely more) of development time left?

my music player app is dead as well. I seem to remember seeing it somewhere in this thread but cannot find the post now.

I erased all settings, OTA'ed the update, then i synced back with iTunes b5 (usb connected) the sync took WAY longer than most restores I've done and then started moving over about 3300 songs.

Even under the "general/about" page, it shows that there are 3316 songs, however, i cannot launch the music app.

So then i tried a connected restore through iTunes, and saw the same thing.

All of the other bugs people are reporting are not in mine (dead apps, no texts, etc.) but anyone else seen this?

Having the exact same issue here. Stand by and use time are the same. Phone is really unresponsive and syncs are taking an age. Any advice?

Seems to run pretty smooth for me. I remember that Beta 2 had awful lag.

Right now, the only problems that I'm having are music details not being updated during syncs. (When I download album art or change songs in "Get Info") and my Photos app refuses to open.

same here with camera roll, when i take a screen shot it doesn't show up in camera roll, i usually have to take 3-4 to get one to show up, once that one shows up and i close photos out and open it back up all 4 tend to show. annoying..

Sigh I got the stupid "dead apps" bug now. I am in the middle of restoring a fresh install of the iOS5 b5 firmware.

Is anyone else worried that Apple may not have iOS 5.0 ready for September? It is still totally buggy. So many things just simply don't work.

Yes, I know it's a beta. I'm a real dev. But dang, this is just extremely buggy. It's nowhere near being even remotely ready for release, let alone polished. It seems like at least 3-4 more months of just fixing bugs.

I don't know about 3-4 months, but I do agree that it feels a lot farther from release then a lot of beta's have so close to release (or so we are all speculating) in the past.

I hate to be pessimistic but Apple has been known to "stretch" release dates. i.e. El Jobso saying iOS 5 will be out "in the fall" and fall technically runs until December 21st so it could be anywhere from the more likely option of Sept/Oct release to the end of fall.

Kind of like Apple had the iPhone and iOS on the back burner for the last year and is just now lighting a fire under them.

Well they said Fall last year for iOS 4.2 for iPad, that was November, so who knows, since they said fall for iOS 5, it could be November again.

I agree, iOS 5 beta 5 does feel like it's not nearly ready for release. I'm still thinking any earlier than the last week or 2 of september is too soon for this. I'm probably wrong, but i feel like it's got 2 more betas ahead before GM.

Supposedly we're only a couple of days from beta 6, so it could be a different kettle of fish by then.

Battery life was terrible for since i did OTA update the day it was available. I hadn't gotten around to restoring as new from my computer then yesterday i started getting a 2 sec lag from when unlocked my phone the desktop would go blank the everything would appear 2-3 sec later.

so i restored as new set up everything back up as new and battery life is probably 90% better and no more lag.

I agree. I'd be EXTREMELY surprised to see iOS 5 released in September at all. I'd guess mid-October, but I truly am pulling that out of my rear.

I sincerely hope that after iOS 5 is released, and Mac OS X 10.7.2 is released, and iCloud is activated, that they spend the next 6-12 months pulling a "Snow Leopard" and just squashing every single bug and trying to make iOS and Mac OS X have incredible interoperability and just be smooth and dreamy.

They've just got so much stuff going on that it has to be a nightmare. Ie, they are trying to get iCloud up and running. Well, they have some stuff for iCloud available on the iOS 4.x, and then they have a lot more on iOS 5.0 But they are also trying to make Mac OS X 10.7.2 work with it. And then all the apps that go back and forth with it, across different platforms, etc. On top of that, Apple is expected to design and release the most beautiful phone and tablet on Earth with new features, same price, and skinnier.

They just truly have a hell of a lot of things on their plate. I know Apple can do it (no other company can come close to the amount of stuff Apple does), but I really hope they can just pin down all these bugs and get everything smoothed out.

well there's more and more reports saying early-mid october, which was what i have been thinking since iOS5 was announced. It just seems more likely.
