Anybody here having any problems with wifi sync? It was fine till yesterday. iTunes is acting like it needs to restore it. And YES I have itunes 5 beta 5. I restored to beta 5 for a second time when I got it cus of another problem. Should I do it again to fix wifi sync? Anybody have a similar issue?

Yes, I'm having the same problem. It seems to work fine over a cable but if I turn wifi sync on it will fail, it acts like it works but doesn't copy any new selections. Then if I close itunes and relaunch it I can see the phone pop in iTunes but it then goes away and if I plug a cable in it will show up as a new device. I'm restoring from the cloud and will turn off wifi until the next beta.

Worked fine in beta 4 manually but would not auto sync at night plugged in.

This is happening to my Camera Roll ever since I got Beta 5.
I had previously installed Beta 2, and no problems.

First, I restored from a 4.3.3 backup. This happened.
Then, I erased the iPod Photo Cache, as a tutorial explained. Never had that bad syncing problem. Always synced the 624 photos correctly, no problems. Tried syncing the NO EVENTS option, to clear the "cache", then syncing the photos and same happened.
Tried syncing from folder containing only the photos; same. Tried syncing from iPhoto Library; same.

Can anyone help?

PS: When I tap, the photo appears after ~1.5secs. Then I scroll and the others appear. They're there, but Camera Roll and Photo Library are displaying this weird issue.

EDIT: Camera Roll presented here has 4 photos. If it had 5, another black box would appear, directly below the left one

How do you get the Events icon? Never seen that before.

Well, I believe it's because I synced from the iPhoto Library. iPhoto scans the photos information and groups them into Events (mine are dates, only). When you sync from iPhoto Library on iTunes, you get the Events button.

Ah right. I am on Windows so that would explain it. Thanks.

I think you have that issue because you restored from an iOS 4 backup. From my experience, restoring from a iOS 4 backup in iOS 5 caused nothing but chaos on my phone :/

You should try setting up as new then resyncing everything manually.

Yep, it worked fine for me in beta 4 too. Not a big deal though. So, you restored using an icloud backup? I tried that the first restore, took over 2 hours so I quit out of it, restored using itunes backup. I wouldn't mind trying it again. How long did it take?

This is way better than b4. b2 seemed to be the most stable for me though. Sigh. Those were the days!

I'm enjoying watching this thing progress though!

the problem is that you restored from an iOS4 beta, dev notes clearly stated that iOS5 should be setup as fresh and then subsequent beta's are only recommenced to be restored from iOS5 backups.

Awesome.. I back up my iphone4 on iOS5b4, erase content/settings, update to iOS5b5 and iTunes informs me that the last backup made was mid-July!! Thanks you cock!! It's like traveling back in time, only you didn't want to.

Missed those, as always. Thanks for the tip, will try.

About 7 hours. I had around 11GB of content.

iOS 5 beta 5 fix bluetooth headset issue

I managed to perform over the air update using just 3G network and without having to reset anything. It look me just around 10mins... this is really impressive.
Btw, while using beta 4 i found that there is a huge connectivity problem with bluetooth headset.. the sound keep drop out like a bad signal.
with this fix.... the bluetooth problem seem to be fixed.. Awesome!!

I did it overnight for the last beta. It's useful if you have to update and need to be out and about but if you'll be near a computer with your backup on it then that's the way to go as it takes less than 2 hours (of course all updates in the future will be OTA).

on the plus side, the google+ app update that came out a short while ago makes it work on iOS5, with an ironic popup saying it may not work with iOS5......... :D

Yep, I am having a similar problem. It won't even show up my iPhone/iPad for WiFi sync (it keeps finding them and then they disappear straight away) and if I connect with the cable it acts like I need to restore. I'm gonna wait a couple of days and if it's still doing it just back up to iCloud and restore.

Have they sorted the security hole that when iPhone is locked, if you go into the camera app, you can then access the iPhone's camera roll beyond any photo's you've taken whilst the phone's locked?

A bit late for me to answer, but yes. You can no longer access existing pictures in the camera roll if accessing it from the lock screen camera.

Appalled that this is Beta 5 as Wi-Fi sync sucks.
This is how it went for me.

Attempt 1: Sent two songs over, iTunes showed it syncing and so did my device. Go to music app, only one song present and would not play.
iTunes stated the songs were on the device.

Attempt 2: Load one song onto device. Song worked but No Album Art transferred (Yes the track did contain it and it works syncing via cable).

Attempt 3: Added another song, in the process it deleted the other song. Yet iTunes still states both are on there yet the device shows one (Still no album art).

Attempt 4: Add one more song, sync failed as device supposedly disconnected when it did not. iTunes shows 2 songs on device now, yet the device itself shows no songs present.

Attempt 5: iTunes can't find device/Device can't find iTunes yet both we're working (Although horribly) two minutes ago. I give up.

So I'm gonna be using the cable from here on out. It's outrageous as this was worse in Beta 4 so I guess it'll go to the GM aswell. This is one feature I hate.

Not sure why you have been so downvoted. The Wifi music sync def isn't working properly, it wasn't in Beta 4 either; I've seen all the issues you described and a couple more.

The option to update is not showing for me. It says that my software is up to date. I am running beta 4. I put it in airplane mode and took it out, and restarted the phone.

Looks like I have to download the full update?

Read developer portal duh?

Reset all content and settings and it shows up after that.

This is happening to me as well. Out of curiosity, are you syncing to a windows machine? I've spoken to a couple people who don't have this problem, but they are syncing to Macs. I've already restored from backup a couple of times, both from iCloud and iTunes. Restoring was not a fix for me.
