In all seriousness, wonder what else really was updated . Those two improvements were listed in the original 6.1.1 beta 1 way back before 6.1.1 and 6.1.2 was released. Cant imagine that's all there was after the 6.1.3beta 2 which was out for some time too. And conflicting info always around maps. Its server side so updates can appear without iOS update (as was the case a few weeks ago with Japan maps). So what gives with maps updates on the device with iOS update verses server side?

Installing now and battery life already seems better. Its actually going up!Hmm maybe because its plugged in while updating? Or perhaps some behind the scenes battery charging code built in now.

On an iPhone 5? That would be a reason to upgrade. 6.1.2 totally killed my battery life, to the point where I, yes, ordered a Nexus 4. A phone that doesn't last through the day and dies late afternoon / evening is useless to me.

You people are funny. THe bug is announced, you cry for blood. They release a fix, you say "thank you, but no thank you"...

For crying out loud...

It's because people are jailbroken and upgrading would mean losing it.

That's an easy one: There is a whole lot more wrong with maps than just the data.

As an example, I was in Hong Kong and the reason Apple Maps was useless there was the "detail-at-a-given-zoom-level" setting. If I zoomed out enough to see more than one street, I wouldn't see street names for side streets. If I zoomed in enough to see the side street names, I didn't see any context (just one large street zoomed all the way in in the middle).

Google Maps wasn't out at the time so I made do with Google Maps in Safari. Pretty horrible compared to maps in iOS 5, but still leaps and bounds better than Apple Maps. In HK.

Ah ok. So display issues verses actual missing data. Here in N.C in US maps are actually fine for the most part. Not really heard any complaints from this area.

6.1.2 signing

Just my luck, my new ipad 4 arrived today, delayed by 3 days in the post and 6.1.3 comes out same day.

Just switched it on to find ios 6.0 installed, wanted to go up to 6.1.2 but I am unsure if it is still being signed.

has anybody restored today to 6.1.2, is it still being signed??

any help appreciated.

Which one is this? The one where iOS turns off WiFi unless plugged in? The very thing it has been designed to do?

Is it really a feature though? I always wondered why does the iPhone disconnect from Wifi in sleep mode, yet retains the more battery-draining 3G connection...

I just read the whole thread.

What an astounding amount of whining, crabbing and complaining.

Just incredible...
