As a demi-god who pays money for your status, you should encourage comments that support and bring traffic to the site. Not just comments of people who accept that Apple is now so big that "good enough" is "good enough".

Wait, because I gave the site $25, I'm supposed to be thrilled at whatever people post, as long as it brings traffic to the site!!! I'm afraid I don't feel any responsibility to bring traffic to the site...that's not my problem.

Generally speaking, I don't really give a rat's tuchus as to whether people think Apple is "good enough". In fact, generally speaking, I don't giver a rat's tuchus what people think about Apple. If they like Apple, that's just swell. And if they don't like Apple, that's dandy, too.

I gave $25 because there are many aspects of the site that I enjoy very much, and felt that it would be nice to support it. That also does not stop me, and others, from posting comments on the site, not all of them positive. And, as incredibly powerful as I am, I really don't think my comments effect site traffic. Well, maybe a little...I am incredibly powerful, you know.

I just noticed the "sarcasm" smilie, so if I somehow misinterpreted your post...just forget all of the above.:D

Ahh finally the fix to remove choice from my device and lock me securely back into apples airtight eco system that i have been waiting for ...

Think ill stick with the build i have + Cydia until apple add a feature to the updates instead of just releasing updates that close jailbreaks.

Apple seems to have gone from innovating, to evolving, to stagnating, to normal corporate bullcrap in record time since SJ passed.

Probably just a patch to fix the iOS jailbreak issue, nothing more.

My iPad demands me to be on wifi to update, most annoying thing ever, i have unlimited data on my wifi+3G iPad mini but i cant bloody use it unless i jailbreak...then i cant update because it will break the jailbreak.

Apple needs to lift that app size/update download limit, its really a stoneage limit now, given that my iPad minis speed test on 3G is 16mb/s down and 9mb/s up so its broadband speeds

Not really, not when unlimited data is rare nowadays. The highest we can get is 1Gb/month!

software update

why cant i update my software thru LTE?? why does it say i need to be connected to a wi-fi connection?

Just my luck, my new ipad 4 arrived today, delayed by 3 days in the post and 6.1.3 comes out same day.

Just switched it on to find ios 6.0 installed, wanted to go up to 6.1.2 but I am unsure if it is still being signed.

has anybody restored today to 6.1.2, is it still being signed??

any help appreciated.

Both my iPad mini and iPhone 4S are plugged in and syncing new music, and both are saying to update to iOS 6.1.2, so I'm guessing Apple is still signing it. It would be best to go ahead and get more clarification from other users and download an IPSW vs. update from iTunes and just restore. I hope this helps!

It's always been this way since OTA was introduced. It's a carrier limitation, they want to limit their users hogging bandwith by downloading large files over Data connection.

You think so? Why would they do it? Did they cave in to RIAA?

Thanks for McTube, though, I much prefered not having to download yet another app to do something an OS already did fine.

Yeah, I agree. Part of me misses iOS 5 still.

MacRumors appears to be clueless about this. I'll state here what I just stated in that thread:

I really wish sites like Mac Rumors would stop reporting the Apple TV software version as if its the same as the OS version.

The Apple TV is currently on iOS version 6.1.3 and only the software build version is 5.2.1. They are two entirely different things. The Apple TV software is just an app running on top of iOS. Same as how Netflix on my iPhone is just an app with software version 2.4.3 running on top of iOS 6.1.3.

If you go into Settings > About it will show you the software build version initially but if you hit select, it will switch to show you the iOS version which is 6.1.2 or 6.1.3 if you have updated it.

Installing now and battery life already seems better. Its actually going up!Hmm maybe because its plugged in while updating? Or perhaps some behind the scenes solar battery charging code built in now.

I think it must be some kind of bug that it reports higher battery life! :p

My phone reported it had a 100% charge after the update when it was at 87% before downloading and installing the update UNPLUGGED. It's a miracle!

On an iPhone 5? That would be a reason to upgrade. 6.1.2 totally killed my battery life, to the point where I, yes, ordered a Nexus 4. A phone that doesn't last through the day and dies late afternoon / evening is useless to me.

Shame, i get spectacular battery life on my i5 with the latest iOS version...i heard the Nexus 4 battery is absolutely terrible

You complain about the i5 battery but the Nexus 4 has worse battery life with no LTE

I have maybe a newbie question. I have 6.1.1 and i keep it because i've heard that 6.1.2 has wifi problems. Now if i go for update 6.1.3 i'll get 6.1.2 changes as well??

No thanks your update sucks

I hope millions of users dont update so that apple understands their OS is ancient history and people will not give up their jailbreak enhancements

If you've got a problem with Apple's ecosystem then move. Instead of just moaning about it?

Why do you think that's Apple's issue?

It *IS* Apple's issue.

I have the same issue. It's not network related - something is borked in the noise cancellation area for some users. If I use a headset, the voice quality is fine.

When you update to 6.1.3, the changes from 6.1.2 will also be applied

What about improvements to the US maps?

I'm trying to figure out why any map updates would require new code on the iPhone... Japan, US, wherever. I'd tend to think (and I'm probably wrong!) that way north of 99% of the content would be server-side.

I really can live without being Jailbroken if it wasn't for 3G unrestrictior and f.lux.

I'll REALLY miss f.lux more than anything if I upgrade for some reason in the future to a non-jailbreakable version.
